Generic Cymbalta Less Efficacy

Updated July 4, 2021

I have been on Cymbalta ( and Teva generic 60mg) for 8 years now. Lately it's starting to feel like the med is not quite the same in efficacy as a year ago.
Wondering if things might pick up if I can get insurance to cover some of the brand name again,?

Hello, Howard! How are you?

It is normal for our bodies to get used to anything we ingest regularly for a long period of time and for it to stop working as well. Thus, after 8 years, you most likely need to try a different medication for awhile.

What condition are you taking it to treat?

If the SNRIs, such as this, work best for you, there are others you can try, such as Effexor, Pristiq and Savella.

The FDA lists them all as possibly causing similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.
