Generic Adderall Vs Brand Name Adderall
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I recently read online that the generic form of Adderall contains fillers and inactive ingredients. Is there anyone who was on the generic Adderall switch to the name brand? Did you notice a difference? And about how much do you pay with insurance...(you don't have to answer that if you don't want)
I am currently prescribed D-Amphetamine Salt Combo 20mg. I take a whole pill in the morning, then a half a pill at 3pm. Even with the medicine, I find it extremely hard to remember what I just read while studying. I have to re-read a sentence a few dozen times in order to somewhat remember.

The only thing that I've been dealing with is car sickness. Mostly it's when I'm in the passengers seat and the driver turns. (It's hard to explain) but feels almost as if you lay down after drinking and the room is spinning. But instead, I'm sitting stationary while I feel the the car turning. I keep anti-nausea pills on the car. I haven't gotten sick though. A few months ago I would constantly get head aches. One was so bad I almost went to the hospital. No meds helped and lasted for over 8 hours. It happened again, but less extreme the month after. It's been awhile, but believe I was just dehydrated and during the time I was in the middle of switching doctors due to my Dad getting new insurance. The doctor wouldn't prescribe me meds until she got the initial report from my doctor when I was 4 YEARS OLD, I'm 24 and she expected me to know who my Dr was. I went from taking 30mg Adderall everyday for a year to taking absolutely nothing. I brought my prescription bottles with me. The least she could have done was give me the lowest dose, seeing I had a legitimate prescription. Which is funny, Bc my original Dr prescribed me kolonopin and the new Dr was like "oh, this is the first to go....this drug is addictive." What she did was prescribe me Buspirone and a low dose of kolonopin to ease off of it. She wanted me to take one kolonopin one day and the other pill the next. I didn't even fill the kolonopin...I knew I didn't need it, I knew I wasn't going to have withdraws and I knew I sure as heck wasn't or will ever get addicted to meds. I felt very judged by this doctor. Needless to say, I dropped that Doctor a month later and now paying out of pocket for my original one. I was very honest with my Doctor and told her everything. She even apologized for how I was treated.
All medications contain fillers/inactive ingredients, name brands, as well as generics. You can research the details via the FDA and NIH reports.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, nervousness, and anorexia.
Are you experiencing problems while taking the generic?
