Generic Adderall Brands (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I am very concerned and confused about why generic Adderall brands are so all over the place!! I usually get Aurora brand and I'm fine with it but last month I got this corpharma brand crap, it made my stomach ache and gave me a headache! It was terrible. Back on Aurora brand and I feel better again but wtf is up with this BS?! I'm thinking about having my dr write no substitutions on my script and just pay for the name brand adderall. I've tried it in the past and it is by far superior. Motivation, concentration, and energy are all together with minimal side effects. Anyone relate?

Mallinkrodt XR is also horrible. Formerly on Prasco, but was switched at the beginning of the Covid pandemic and lockdown due to supply chain issues. Over the past 17 months, noticed a significant dropoff in my performance, especially reading and learning music quickly during Zoom rehearsals. Second worst to Actavis. Might as well put toothpicks under your eyelids to stay awake. Forget about motivation or multitasking. Just called Walgreens and special-ordered Sandoz now that the economy is starting to open up where being alert and able to deal with ppl in person is important. Here's hoping...

I picked up my prescription for generic Adderall 10mg yesterday at a local CVS pharmacy. They are usually blue in color and I’ve had no issues with them. This last prescription is a much darker blue and the color rubs off on my fingers and hands. It also feels like I’m taking sugar pills…they don’t do a thing. I believe they are bad. Anyone else have this issue? Where do I report this??

Totally. I’m only 4 months new to the Rx and started with Lannett. Found Teva for month 3 and 4 and now now pharmacy carries it. I read Teva bought Lannett. Or maybe it was the other way around. Some of the generics are so bad and the stress every 21 days of calling it in and having the pharm tell you it’s yet another brand (crappy brand) im already so stressed out about it all in just 4 months. I have no idea what’s going on.

Get back on the brand for Adderall! Change pharmacys, Walgreen I used for years. Then they chained brands, the pills were braking up in my mouth I complained they did nothing.
Me, I did something. Rite aid seems to be reliable, but I always call to make sure they have brand on hand.

Hey, when you guys post an update or say which generic is or isn't working, can you provide a few details?

1. Manufacturer
2. XR or IR? Include the mg and a description of the pill (color, shape, etc.)
3. ***THE PHARMACY WHERE YOU FILLED YOUR PRESCRIPTION***
4. Your location, if you are comfortable with that, on the off-chance we are close and can then be guaranteed to know the manufacturer

Because if one of the generics works better than others, and it is available at a chain pharmacy, usually it is consistent throughout the whole chain and that will make it easier for all of us to get a hold of that manufacturer's Adderall, or to avoid it if we don't like that manufacturer.

Mallinckodt

Note: All are IR

Although TEVA has decreased in potency in the last 2 to 5 years, it is still the most potent and effective in my opinion.

Warning: Mallinckodt is absolutely horrible
Avoid!

I have been getting Teva Adderall at Walgreens in Illinois and they are not good. Some days I can't even stay awake after taking them. I am prescribed 20 mg 5 times daily and have been taking them for 8 yrs for ADHD and depression. A few yrs back Sandoz was the best, but now I don't know what is any good. What ARE the best generic Adderall in IL?

Try apple sauce! My mom was a nurse and you would be surprised how smooth a pill goes does with apple sauce.

Wonderful answer!! Always do your research & sometimes it does take a while (trial & error) to get the right combination of medications, especially relating to comorbid disorders. Research is very important as well as communication with your doctor.
If you can find one in your area, I highly suggest an independent pharmacy as opposed to a big chain pharmacy! They are more likely to have lower prices, treat you like an actual person & not just another number, as well as ordering specific medications upon request - especially when it’s backed by your doctor.

I agree with you & I’m 100% behind the legalization of marijuana! Specifically for patients who suffer with pain, so as a pain management medication alternative. As well as for medical mental health use.
Unfortunately, some people (such as myself) cannot tolerate whatever is in it. It’s almost like I have an allergic reaction & my throat closes up & I can’t breathe. This has happened with numerous strains but if it helps everybody else I support it for all of you! ??

The orange football shaped ones are the best & most effective, in my personal opinion & experience.
My pharmacy is supposed to have this noted in my chart/file to only get those for me because they have zero negative side effects unlike every other brand. The pink ones have had the least amount of negative side effects as far as alternatives to the orange ones, but they’re still not as effective as the orange ones.

I mean, I spend $3.40 on 10 mg epic pharm and 20 mg rhodes for upwards of 300 I could get brand name but I don't have that kind of $$

I've got a yellow pill with "0 9 8" on one side and then the letter "U" on the other side. Is this pill considered a 5mg Adderall generic? It's a lowercase U and looks like it's supposed to be Adderall generic, I'm guessing because I don't see the brand for it.

I need to know if the generic Adderall my son takes is water soluble? He absolutely cannot swallow the pills and his doctor told me to try dissolving them. Can I do this effectively?

It does exist and my insurance company won't allow me to get it. My doc wrote a note requesting name brand only after my bad experiences with Aurobindo and Mylan and they denied it. Now I need to fight their decision, which according to my friend (who is also a pharmacist) is a battle that can be very hard to win.

I had read that people who prefer a more distributed effect, (rather than on/off) crush 1 tab to 1 quarter bottle of water. I asked my doctor about it and he said to give it a try but all I found was that the effectiveness was (sorry for the pun) watered down.

Hello. My name is Tyler. I have been taking IR adderall for about 5 months now. I started with aurobindo and it honestly was trash, Then I moved to sandoz and I noticed a warm feeling in the front of my head. I feel almost euphoric but nothing causing anything with an inability to focus. I upped my IR dose due to it not working as long; I will take 10 mg sandoz, then another in the afternoon, then a 5 mg teva. I noticed when I take teva it gives me an extreme rush of warmness in my brain and I feel almost unfocused. The sandoz causes issues too but I have never felt this before. Should I cut down on my dose? What should I do? I took it an hour ago and I wasted so much time I feel like I am buzzed out of my head.
