Gave Tin Uses

I'm being prescribed Gave Tin for leg pain in my calves. Is this what it's used for? I was taking opiates for years. I'm on suboxone now. I don't want to become addicted to anything. The leg pain is a trigger because it's exactly the way I felt coming down... But, I'm assuming this is fibromyalgia?

I'm sorry, did you mean Gabapentin?

It is an anticonvulsant that is also used to help certain types of nerve pain, some mood disorders, and to prevent seizures.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes.

There's an article published on the Mayo Clinic website from August 2017 that says "While gabapentin hasn't been approved by the FDA for the treatment of fibromyalgia, some doctors may prescribe it off-label for such use ... Gabapentin and pregabalin were originally approved to treat certain types of epilepsy and nerve pain. Both drugs work by limiting the release of pain-communicating chemicals by nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The most common side effects of both drugs are dizziness and drowsiness." [1]

Has your doctor officially "diagnosed" you as possible fibro?
