Gaining Weight Cuz Of Methadone

Help plz.. I've been on liquid methadone for over 3 yrs and gained 50 lbs. and still gaining weight; my question is if I take phentermine from my doctor will it help me lose weight or is it a lost cause due too the methadone ?????

Hello, Muffin! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having.

Yes, Methadone could be the cause, it does that to some people that take it and, if that is the case, there isn't much that will help as long as you are still taking it.

You also may not be able to take Phentermine, with the Methadone, since it is a stimulant and the Methadone is a downer. However, it may be worth discussing it with your doctor to see what they think.

Methadone is an opiate narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth.
