Gabapentin Tablets Less Than 100 Mg

Is there any way to get Gabapentin in less than 100 mg pills? I have a method on weaning off from 1,200 mg a day to 100 mg total (talking to the doctor when it’s time to take 2 xs a day instead of 3 xs).

I’m well aware that there are multiple phases during withdrawals. The first phase took 10 days for Gabapentin to equalize in my body. A week afterwards I had 2 days of Hot night sweats but was done with withdrawals after that. (At least until I lower my dose).

Please respond so this can stay active and can let you know my method of weaning off safely.

Hi Grayman,

You may have success inquiring about different dosages with a local compounding pharmacy who could formulate something more suitable for your needs... However, I'm not quite sure how much it would cost and whether that's worth the time/effort/investment.

Another idea is to increase the duration of time in between doses so that 100mg stretches farther. I'd just recommend working closely with your doctor to make the most informed decisions when it comes to such tapering; but where there's a will there's a way.

Hello David. I’m a lot better just tapering off. The thing is my pain management doctor trusts me, but the nurse wanted me to increase even though I asked to decrease. The nurse writes the prescriptions.

This is new ground for both of them as people normally use opoids and/or the max amount of Gabapentin and thought I was using this for life. Is there any liquid Gabapentin? I would like to go all the way down to 50 mg a day as 100 makes a huge difference for me. (The year mark after surgery is in 2 weeks, and have stopped using Opiids 5 weeks after surgery).

(2/2) Now that you’re at the 400 - 500 mg/day mark it’s time to talk to your doctor when ready to switch from 3xs to 2xs a day.

Month #8 (A): If staying at 500 mg a day, take 1 (300 mg) capsule when at the most amount of pain and 2 (100 mg) capsules at other time. If not...

Month #8 (B): Drop from 500 mg a day to 400 mg a day. 1 (100 mg) capsule in the morning, 2 (100 mg) capsules in the afternoon, and 1 (100 mg) capsule at night.

Month #9 (A): Drop from 500 mg to 400 mg a day. 2 (100 mg) capsules both times when taking your medication.

Month #9 (B): Maintain 400 mg a day 2 (100) mg a day. 2 (100 mg) capsules both times when taking your medication.

Month #10 (A and B): Drop from 400 mg to 300 mg a day. 2 (100 mg) capsules when at most amount of pain and 1 (100 mg) capsule at other time.

Month #11: Maintain 300 mg a day. If ready (and talked to your doctor), Switch to 1x a day with 1 (300 mg) tablet. If not...

Month #12: Drop from 300 mg to 200 mg a day. 2 (100 mg) capsules.

Month #13: Maintain 200 mg a day. Last month of Gabapentin is #14 if all goes well (or if anything is less than 100 mg drop to 50 mg a day).

(1/2) Based on 3xs a day. Idk how this didn’t get posted but the 2nd half did.

Month #1: When comfortable drop from 1,200 mg to 1,000 mg a day. Take 1 (300 mg) capsule in the morning and afternoon. Take 1 (300 mg) + 1 (100 mg) capsule at night.

Month #2: Drop from 1,000 mg to 900 mg a day. Take 1 (300 mg) capsule in the morning, afternoon, and at night.

Month #3: Drop from 900 mg to 800 mg a day. Take 1 (300 mg) capsule in the morning and afternoon. Take 2 (100 mg) capsules at night.

Month #4: Maintain 800 mg a day.

Month #5: Drop from 800 mg to 700 mg a day. Take 2 (100 mg) capsules in the morning, 1 (300 mg) capsule in the afternoon, take 2 (100 mg) capsules at night.

Month #6: Drop from 700 mg to 600 mg a day. Take 2 (100 mg) capsules in the morning, afternoon, and at night.

Month #7: Drop from 600 mg to 500 mg a day. Take 1 (100 mg) capsule in the morning, 1 (300 mg) in the afternoon, and 1 (100 mg) capsule at night.

You can use a water titration method or your Doctor can prescribe liquid Gabapentin to help reduce at your own pace.
