Gabapentin Increased Appetite

Recently given this medicine and no exaggeration: Within 20 minutes a ate a 450 cal Boston Market TV dinner, ANOTHER in 15 minutes and two White Castle sliders next. I’ve NEVER hit a refrigerator like a Tasmanian Devil before. If there was more food, I’d have eaten it. Oh yeah, there we’re some mozzarella lunch cheese snack, killed those too! EASILY consumed 1,300 calories in LESS than an hour!

Gabapentin has been known to do that to some people, unfortunately. Most medications in this class, that were originally used to treat seizures, carry a warning about possible weight gain.

I tried it, for awhile, but it really didn't help my pain, at all, and it was causing a lot of side effects, so I tapered off of it.

Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood changes, and blood test anomalies.

Have you discussed this with your doctor? You should probably try something else.
