Gabapentin Helping Me Both Mentally And Physically

I started on Gabapentin 6 days ago and I feel great. I have a new pm doc and he added this med to the other pain meds that I've been on for 6 years. Regained feeling in both feet that have nerve damage, and along with ms contin 30 my bid and 15 mg x 4 of oxycodone, my back and knees are not as painful as they usually are. I have 10 percent of my lower spine remaining from degeneration and both knees are bone on bone. Not only is the pain tolerable but my mental health seems to have improved drastically. I've read mostly horror stories about gabapentin, but I'm wondering if anyone else has a positive opinion about it. Thanks for reading

In most cases, those who have had a positive experience with a medication aren't the ones Googling online to find a site like this, thus you will usually see posts with complaints. The millions of people that don't have problems have no reason to be posting about it online.

I am very glad that it is working so well for you and yes, it has been known to help with some mood disorders, as well as preventing seizures and treating nerve pain, according to FDA reports.

Can anyone else share their experiences?

I've utilized this site for about 5 years now, and yes you're correct about that. I've been in pain management for as many years, and have been through changes in the quality of certain opiate manufacturer's, the changes in laws regarding them, and I've posted my share of questions as well as responding to others' concerns as well. This med is new to me and I wish the other pm docs would have tried me on this sooner. I hope I continue to experience the positive effects that this is having on me. I've read so many negative responses about gabapentin, and I'm hoping that someone will reply that is having positive results as well. But you're probably right, if there are folks benefiting from it, why get online and post about it.
