Gabapentin And White Blood Cell Count
UpdatedI just started taking Gabapentin a month ago and my white blood cell count is high, but never has been. Can this be why? Will I need to postpone any surgeries because of this?

Yes, the FDA does list that as being a known side effect of Gabapentin, along with nausea, dehydration, somnolence, mood changes, and weight changes.
As to whether or not you can have surgery that will depend on the opinion of the surgeon, and whether or not they actually detect a real infection, or if it seems that this has just been caused solely by the medication.
What type of surgeries are you due to undergo? I know when I needed dental surgery, and my WBC count was high, they assumed it was due to my dental infections, so they did the surgery, anyway. It turns out they were correct, a couple weeks after surgery, my counts went back to normal. Usually, doctors have a good idea of what might be causing it, and if it something to worry about, or not.
Are you on any other medications?
