Hi Mare - By "enhance", are you asking whether Gabapentin increases sleep apnea, or whether it helps to treat it?

I found a research study on PubMed titled "Gabapentin acutely increases the apnea-hypopnea index in older men: data from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study." You can read through what they say, but they ultimately concluded "gabapentin worsened sleep breathing acutely compared with placebo". Note that it was not a longer term clinical trial so more research is warranted. A longer version of the study is also published at:
