Gabapentin 300mg And Cellulitis

Following knee replacement surgery I was diagnosed 2 x 100mg Gabapentin. Three times a day. After discharge I had to get a renewed prescription and I have now noticed that the Pharmacist has given me 300mg Gabapentin capsules by mistake. This means I have been on 2 x 300mg Gabapentin Three times a day. Is it a coincidence that three days after being discharged after I started the overdose I have developed cellulitis in the lower leg that had the knee replacement?

Yes, that most likely is a coincidence, since cellulitis is a type of deep tissue infection. Are you on an antibiotic for it?

As to your Gabapentin prescription, you should take that one back to the pharmacy and have them correct it.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.
