Gabapentin 300mg Hot Flashes (Top voted first)

I have hot flashes and i have just been prescrbed gabapetin 300mg. Anybody elsr?

Yes. I am having hot flashes with this med and never did when I went through change of life also weight gain and fluid retention. I want to get off this stuff. When i.miss a dose at night I could not sleep and experienced restlessness

I've been on it for about a year now and I have gotten hit flashes but been thinking it's early menopause. I'm 43. I NEVER put two and two together. I've also been allergic to dogs for instance. I had dogs alllll my life. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Another thing. I've always had sleep problems. Had a sleep study and I have restless leg syndrome. I used t o be lucky if I got 4 hours in one piece or 5 hours in a 12 hour period. Now I can and do fall asleep at all times. Especially after dinner. I'm ALWAYS tired and none motivated. Anybody else have these symptoms?

For those of you who are concerned about hot flashes and other symptoms, NIH.gov does list the following side effects to be associated with gabapentin:

feeling of warmth or heat
flushing or redness of the skin
unusual tiredness or weakness
restlessness
trouble sleeping
weight gain
bloated or full feeling

Interestingly enough, I was able to find pretty much every side effect that was mentioned in this thread on that one page.
