I was prescribed JANUMET XR 1000/50 MG 2 TABLETS in the morning before breakfast and 2mg GLIMEPIRIDE after breakfast. I was suggested bya doctor to take GLYCOMET GP1 twice daily instead of JANUMET XR. should I continue to take GLIMEPIRIDE because i read that GP1 contains 1 mg of GLIMEPIRIDE

Yes, you should double check with the doctor, but it seems that he meant to replace your other medications with the Glycomet GP1, since it contains Metformin and Glimepiride. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence and low blood sugar.
What are your normal sugar levels? Were they not in control with the Janumet XR?
