G E Clarithromycin
UpdatedI have a bitter taste in my mouth, I have been taking this med for 4 days, is this a side effect? I wake up in the night and have such a bitter taste, I brush my teeth, gargle with listerine, but nothing helps. Food doesn't taste right. I have 3 more days, should I continue?

Ironically enough, "change in taste" is listed word for word as a general side effect of Clarithromycin.
I think if it becomes too bothersome or severe, you may want to consider talking to your doctor about any other alternative antibiotics that can replace Clarithromycin for the remaining 3 days. It's likely that it may not go away until you stop taking what's causing it to begin with.
You can learn more about this drug on the page for Clarithromycin Details
I hope this info helps!
