UpdatedA cardiologist started me on Isosorbide Mononitrate after I had a few small heart attacks, before starting me on this , I needed nitrostat and the nurse took 40 minutes to bring it, my troponin levels kept increasing, so I've been taking it for over 3 years now, when I started - it took about a month for the headaches to quit, and when sitting - get up slowly and try not to bend over, crouch down using your knees and hold on the the back of a sturdy chair, getting up fast or bending over as to pick something up off the floor, resulted in a headache or a fainting feeling
even 3 years later, my cardiologist said it was a normal side effect, the card nurse had the cardiologist use nitro paste on my chest at first , that day shift nurse that made me wait for nitro was getting even for me telling the MD it took her 20 minutes to bring a nitrostat so the next day she makes me wait 40 minutes, tropinin went from 0.256 to over 0.478,
