Is this safe to take? Ther was something on media of two ingredients in this med that had been found as unsafe. My husband was prescribed Folbee Tab Brec . I would like to know what these ingredients are and if it is safe for my husband to continue this supplement?

Hi Molly,

Are you referring to the Folbee B vitamin complex tablets? If so, I haven't read any reports deeming it unsafe to use. Maybe there is some sort of "inactive" ingredient that is causing problems? I know propylene glycol is an inactive ingredient that is commonly used in some vitamins and prescription drugs as well as beauty products (yuck!), it can be very toxic and harmful to the body over time.

Also, based on my research, the version of B-12 that is used in the Folbee supplement is Cyanocobalamin, which is the synthetic version. The "natural" version is Methylcobalamin. The synthetic version isn't necessarily ''bad", but its effectiveness varies from person to person because it requires a specific enzyme to digest that not everyone has in their body. It's really safest to stick to multivitamin supplements that contain only naturally derived ingredients.

You can learn more about this drug on the page for B vitamin complex

I hope this helps in some way, please post back if you have any questions!
