It will NOT show on drug screen. Focalin is made of Dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride and yes is a stimulant but does not contain amphetamine and will not show any ANY drug screen, even a 12 panel. In am in drug court and they made me stop adderal and any type of amphetamine. However I researched and found focalin and does not show in drug screen. I've been taking it for 7 months daily with random drug screens and never has it shown. They would have to send it to lab and test specifically for Dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride . then it would show as Dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride but NOT amphetamines.

I take generic Focalin (Dexmethylphenidate) XR and was just wondering if it shows up on a 12-panel urinalysis or if it would give a false positive result for amphetamine? Friends of mine had some stupid stuff happen when testing for probation.

Or, as Lori above points out, it has an extremely short half life. That's the other reason it wouldn't show up that I forgot to mention in my post above. To anyone who's currently worried about it showing up on a test, (if you know that they test for it specifically), if you go in about four or five hours before you should be okay.

Sorry to disagree so very late. I know it's been a few years since you posted this answer. Anyway, I get drug tested weekly and I've gone in an hour after having taken a Focalin capsule and all my urine drug tests have come back clean. So either it doesn't show up or it has to be tested for separately from the rest of the panel and most places don't seem to bother unless you've been known to abuse ADHD meds and/or illegal uppers, or you are cure taking it as prescribed and your doctor wants to monitor your compliance in taking it by testing the levels of the medication in your system. Those are the only two reasons/ways I can see that Focalin would show up in a urine test.

Well for one thing focalin has a very short half life 2-4hrs. So after last dose just say for example if you took 5mg on Monday 8am then at 12:00 you would only have 2.5mg left in your body then at 4pm you would have about 1.2mg left that's a rough figure. Focalin ain't gonna show up on a drug test anyways cause it's not an amphetamine unless they test specifically for that drug but it's still not gonna come up as amphetamine..

Yeah, I get tested twice a week and sometimes I have gone in hours after having taken a Focalin and it's never been detected even after they send my urine off to the lab.

They have to do a specific test for methylphenidate not amphetmaines like most. Focalin doesn't show up in a regular panel test it has to be tested for specifically. I am a nurse and get this question a lot.

I agree with this guy..water may not get it out..but what it does is when u keep drinking it the few days before the test and that day.. the water flushes some but it doesn't sit long enough to soak up the thc and you can pass a urine test...i've seen it done too much...

Get honest its not your friend its you! And if you have been taking a controlled substance everyday for a month or longer it takes about 5 to to 7 days to get out of your system and if you have hep c about 10 days

Yes I agree with this 100%..I've used n passed literally just a few hrs later by drinking a gallon or 2 of water! Just always made sure I peed like 1-2 times after drinking the water b4 I peed for them

I found out that all people process drugs dif. I had many test done but for some reason my foclun 15 mil doese not show up.I change my diet and workout and I even brought my preworkout to get it approved. All clinics use diff company's knowing they are not accurate. So do your own.
