Flupenthixol (fluanxol) Side Effects
UpdatedI used to take deanxit for 15 years once every morning but it got banned in india. It was fine for me. Now I take flupenthixol (fluanxol) 50 mg everyday and it works fine, but after taking this medicine at 9 am my eye muscles above the eyes starts to get heavy by 12 pm. And if I close my eyes and rest for 30 minutes the pressure and heaviness goes away. Why does this happen? What can I do to solve this problem? Kindly advise.

Hello, Sanjay! How are you?
Drowsiness can be a normal side effect of this medication, as listed by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.
How long have you been taking it? Side effects are usually transient and tend to go away with time, once your body gets used to a medication.
