Fluoxetin P

Had fluoxetine hcl manufactured by teva. Provider now gave fluoxetin(p) identified as "substitute for fluoxetine" and mtg is par --what's the difference?

From what you've mentioned, the only difference is who manufactured the particular one you're taking. Paroxetine is a generic medication, so it is manufactured by several different companies.

The name brand for it is actually Paxil.

The original prescription was for Prozac which was replaced by the generic fluoxetine hcl when generic became available. When the providing pharmacy was switched, the new provider supplied fluoxetin(p) in lieu of fluoxetine hcl. No where in the papers did I see reference to Paxil, a different antidepressive. Is this a 'switched' prescription without my knowledge?
