Flagyl 250mg Twice A Day
UpdatedI was given penicillin vk for 7 days for a dental infection that lingered after a molar was removed. Two days after I finished the penicillin I developed headache on top and back of my head along with fullness at top back and around ears along with loud noise in my head. I went to walk in clinic and Dr. Said I had outer and middle ear infection and gave Ceftin 250mg every 12 hours for 10 days. I took it for 3 days and felt weak, shaky, and couldn't urinate very well except for in between doses if I waited for an hour then my kidneys would catch up. I went back. And was put on Augmentin for 10 days which I completed but the entire time the headache top and back of head improved some pressure improved a little but noise continued. Was given Ciorodex ear drops which began helping a lot and took ibuprofen plus mucinex and flonase. Eventually the headache was gone, pressure reduced to just base of neck and around ears. All of this was over a 6 week period. Doctors had not really helped me much so I had some flagyl from another issue over a year ago and I decided to try it. It helped so much released pressure around ears and back of neck and I had drainage clearing out of my head but after the 3rd day I woke up in the morning it was a couole hours before my next dose and had tightness in my throat with a little trouble swallowing I drank water and eventually it cleared up so now I am wondering if I should stop taking it because it was a warning I was having a reaction.. I have gradually chipped away at whatever I had and am so much better but not completely recovered. I had been given Clindamycin for the dental issue but Im afraid to take anything else. Although from what I read it is the best treatment other than Penicillin vk (which was the first med I took for this before whatever it was that hit my head) for what now would be considered a chronic post-op dental issue.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
The issue here is that taking so many different antibiotics could cause you to develop antibiotic resistance, and/or C Difficile, which can be very dangerous, it may result in diarrhea, dehydration, and could potentially become fatal. It really just isn't safe to keep jumping from one to the other.
Are you on any other medications? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions?
