Finger Joint Protrusion

Hello thank you for stopping by. I have a problem with my index finger on my left hand. when i bend it there seems to be a small bump where the PIP joint is. It is a bit swollen, numb, bruised, and a bit stiff, but no pain. During my school day I remember playing soccer, and accidentally banging my fingers on the table. I don't think this is a fracture. When I bend my finger the small, hard "bump" protrudes out and stretches the skin. Is there any possibility of what this might be? Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your finger. Unfortunately it is difficult to know what it is for sure without running any tests such as x-rays.

When it comes to a joint, there are a lot of ways that you they can be injured, it could just be a piece of cartilage that has broken loose and moved out of place, it's hard to say.

Do you have a regular doctor?

If so, then you need to see them, so they can check it out for you.

When it comes to your joints, it's important to have such things checked out, to avoid any permanent damage being done.

Can you post back and let me know how you're doing?
