Finding A Doc To Prescribe Oxycodone In Springfield Mo (Page 2)

I have a very bad neck injury and I'm taking 4 x 10mg oxycodone a day for pain. I've moved to Springfield recently and all of the doctors offices tell me "Oh, our policy is never to prescribe narcotics." Even the hospitals won't prescribe it and have a family practice docs list and at the bottom of the page the disclaimer states none of the above doctors will prescribe narcotics. I need help anyone know a good doctor with in 200 miles of Springfield Mo. who will prescribe oxycodone?

Hey man I'm really in need to a dr could u please help a guy out and offer the name and place of the dr you are using? I would appreciate it more than u could ever know.

I'm so sorry your in such horrible pain, I know how you feel. I have been getting the shots every 2 weeks. Then last week, he made me have some kind of fusion. The pain he put me through was unbearable. I was reading your post, and then it said (edited for privacy) so, I don't know if I was able to read everything you were wanting to say. Im wondering if the same thing has happened to my posts, and I just can't see it on my end....hmmmm. Im going to post this, then repost the doctors names I have in St. Louis. Please lmk if you can or cannot see them. Again, please do not use me as a reference. Good luck

Hi Joan, I only pray you're still reading our pleas of medical help that we already have been thru the wringer with Epidurals, PT, Ortho Surgeons etc. I still am looking for a Pain Dr who will help us here in Springfield, Mo. Please if you would let me know of some PMD close to you that i can call and pray to get an appt. I am desperate and have no quality of life. I can't do so many things that i used to do, to hardly survive the day. It's a long story but I hurt too much to type. I am screaming HELP ME. Been on meds since 2005, for many illnesses.

Friends, whatever you do, stay away from Dr Tonkin @ Elite Pn Mngmt in Springfield, he'll quote nonexistent laws about opioid limits and leave you feeling like a crackhead for even asking for help.
Without a doubt, the worst example of a doctor I've ever had the misfortune of meeting!

I'm very confused as to why people are saying get off here if your not helping. Who is this directed too? I have given out plenty of information on here. It's only helpful info if you live in St Louis though. But, people post that they are willing to travel hours from Springfield.

I am kind of in your same position. I battled cancer for 7 years. Last year I opted out of anymore treatment, and chose quality of life. Meaning we treat the pain, it's called palliative care. I have two oncologists who both told me this is fine, but that I needed to find an MD who I would see monthly. I did, in another town where I lived at the time. I've seen him monthly for the past two years. He treats whatever I need treating, such as an illiness caused my my cancer, along with pain medication. I take quite a bit everyday, as I have to keep taking my pain meds, so I can keep on top of it. This months visit, the regular md explained that he is going to quit prescribing any pain meds.. PERIOD. He said that my case is different as I will take them until I pass away. He's referring all of his patients to a spine, brain pain management center. I'm okay with that, other than I am self employed, I did have Medicaid, but was dropped due to my car being too valuable, plus I have a checking account. While my car isn't anything special, and my checking account sometimes has a lot of money in it (according to the system, as I bill people for work I do, so basically i don't get a weekly check, but when I get paid it may be for 20k... mind you that has to last me for like 9 months. But because of this it looks like I make a lot. If I were to pay for my medical insurance, my quotes were 1800.00 a month, and that's simply not something I can afford. The initial consult at this place he wants to send me is 600.00, and if they take me it would be 250 a month there after. I have my diagnosis, have been through all of the diagnostics to prove it. Yet they are saying I MIGHT HAVE to do more evaluations, but they won't know until I go in. I haven't a clue as to what to do, as at this point I can't survive without them. This is all, as per my dr a result of the crack down trying to curb the epidemic. I can only hope they look at my records, and are willing go treat me. While I do have cancer, stage 4, I don't know what they expect for someone like me.

I need a new family physician or psychiatric pain doctor in Springfield, MO or Joplin, AR that doesn't give drug panels and will be my one and only Dr.

Can you send me docs info been through everyone list and they wont take me cuz im already on narcotics.. Im just looking for something closer to home so i dont have to drive 4 hours one way..
