Finding Subutex Dr? (Page 3)

I am really having a hard time finding a doctor who treats with Subutex and not Suboxone. I have chronic pain syndrome and relief-seeking behavior soon became drug-seeking behavior. My psychiatrist put me on Subutex, and my pain was reduced a little, but I wasn't so much into drug seeking anymore. I was treated for 5 years. Then I moved, and I can't find anyone in Ohio who does this. I might have to move back to Chicago! Any suggestions?

I am not sure where you are getting information that Suboxone is NOT available generic....I have been on generic Suboxone for 2.5 years so even though this reply is 18 months later, it was available when you posted, and may help another. I have taken both generic and brand Suboxone and can state factually it is absolutely, exactly as pain meds and brand is remarkably better in several ways....it works faster, lasts longer, I can take smaller doses and brand actually makes me much calmer and focused where generic sometimes makes me feel agitated and depressed. As someone who became a raging addict to pain meds after a back injury with no insurance and waiting 2.5 years for state paid surgery, it was unavoidable that I would be addicted....and knowing there is Subutex out there without the Naloxone scares the crap out of me. I will NEVER go back to the hell and torture of addiction and anyone contemplating Subutex so they know they can sneak or indulge whenever with the old life is risking everything. Suboxone manages....MANAGES the pancreatic pain I have from years of alcohol abuse used to get through monthly, clockwork WD throughout my addiction and even knowing I could take the pain away completely by taking narcs or Subutex AND narcs, it isn't worth the hell. I understand and appreciate those with specific complications, but to those others....grow up....life is life, learn to deal with the tough times. Though my pharmacy (CVS) continues to treat me no different than a common street crack addict, I am stable, finished college and actually own "things" of value..... instead of having sold everything just for my next Rx. Since being on Suboxone I have only rarely romanticized the old days of opiate fog....for the most part I do not think about them and so do not crave them. We don't always get what we want....but if we realize we're getting what we need, that can be enough.

Would u like to refer ur doc as I'm currently seeking a subutex dic I'm breastfeeding still and he's trying to say all of the sudden that now u don't need to be on subutex while breastfeeding I talked with pharmacist and she said she never heard of that! So I'm need to seek a new doctor would u mind sharing ur doc info? I cannot seem to find another one quickly

I don't know one doctor who will RX xanax and subutex or Suboxone period... In PA or anywhere. They will not do it here! It is a lethal combo and the liability insurance here is extremely expensive. So much it ran my last GI doc outta the state. So my advice, give up the xanax! It's not gonna happen. Not in PA anyways. And really, I used to be on lots of xanax before and it is a b****, the worst drug to kick and is gonna suck bad, but it's worth it cause you will find out that after its all done and over, you never even needed it to begin with. Xanax is a drug that is completely in the wrong schedule. It has the most potential for abuse than any other drug and should be a schedule 2 not 4. Good news is that once you kick it, you never think of it again like opiates. It's one drug you will never be interested in again. But it is not an easy ride and is not gonna happen if you are not strong and wanting to mk a change. So I guess you need to figure out which one is the most important xanax or subutex.

That's a lie. Go there prepared and educated. If you have a true case of pain, your family doc can most Def RX subutex. They just don't want to. You have no idea how far being educated will take you. I've confronted many docs after they claimed that they could not do this could not do that and showed them the print out from that website and they were speechless. They think you're dumb and that since they're doctors, they're smarter than you
And that's just not right.

It's gladly give up the name of a doctor that's around Columbia mo that is taking new patients, but beware he dropped me, with no wean, because I miss an appointment, the day my son was life air evaced , if anyone had a name of a doc around the illi/missouri state line (quincy , Columbia, are)

Go to naabt.org and locate the tab that is the buprenorphine provider list. Then search the names of the doctors on that list for reviews. Most likely, you'll find what you're looking for. But, read my post above and if your search turns up being a dead end, try your family doctor. Any doctor who has a medical degree can write a script for subutex for pain, any doctor! However, if the doctor plans to provide addiction services with buprenorphine or buprenorphine and naloxone, aka Zubsolv, Suboxone, or whatever else they have come up with, the doctor must obtain a data waiver. That's the difference and the big huge deal with this crap is doctors have to pay for and take a short class to become certified in order to prescribe Suboxone and conduct addiction treatment using the drug containing buprenorphine for ADDICTION. But, the FDA does not have any laws regarding the use of buprenorphine fire pain, but not too be confused with Suboxone, because Suboxone had not been approved for the use of pain. An off label use for buprenorphine, aka subutex, is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain. Suboxone does not. So if you go to a Suboxone clinic and ask an uptight self righteous self absorbed self entitled doctor who just obtained his "data waiver" and especially if it's his or her first year into it, they're only allowed 30 patients, and feel like since they have that waiver and did so much work to get it, that they just have to use it and feel like subutex is not something they are allowed to prescribe... But that's far from true! Check out the website and the facts and educate yourself then you will be prepared next time.

I have called several doctors for pcp doctors and they all say the same thing, they can't prescribe subutex

Listen guys.. I understand All to well the song and dance finding a subutex doc, believe me! I have crohns and the only drug that helps is subutex and my old doc thought so too. He prescribed me 4 8mg tablets a day for the pain and symptoms of this awful terrible uncomfortable disease! As a result of painful stomach issues, addiction to just feeling normal without stomach pain is the real truth... not addicted to pain killers. But anyhow, here is a bit of info you may not know...if you have a legitamate reason for pain killers to be prescribed, and are seeking subutex for the treatment of pain instead of the narcotics or have issues with both addiction and pain, any doctor can prescribe subutex! Family docs are the best resource for it. You all are going the wrong route by seeking subutex from a doc who has the suboxone waiver cause they feel they have to use that waiver to rx tex... no no no. I suggest you all educate yourselves with the facts from: naabt.org. You're welcome. Good nite all.

Please please help! Need a doctor in Illinois, missouri border that can wean me either on subutex or suboxone, I've been on several years, doctor dropped me for missing appointment, my son was air evaced that day to the children's hospital, I know, excuses, excuses, but that's the truth, plain and simple, even provided him with two doctors faxes from two off the doctors who treated my son. He refused to even wean me, and I trusted him, with my life, I declared him to be the best doctor in the usa, to many, and it hurt, bad, and I'm sick. Bad. {edited for privacy}

I would GLADLY give the name of any dr that would write me subutex I jist have no names to give! I used to see a dr Moran in Linesville pa but he is now hemmed up with idek what so can't see him that's why I'm looking for a dr SOME WHERE near me!

I agree with you 100% I take liquid methadone and have been on it for five years Im currently titrating and Im at 60 mg a day I was at 150 I have been going do n for a year and feel great if you every have a problem finding suboxone try methadone

Hello...I'm in dire need to find a dr in Pa that will prescribe me SUBUTEX as I am allergic to the naloxone in SUBOXONE. I was just at a dr that would only give me SUBOXONE & of course I couldn't take it so now I'm extremely sick! Could anyone PLEASE help me!!! Even Ohio would work. I'm in NW PA!!! Thanks so much!!!! I have SOOOOOO much to lose here. I would really appreciate ANY SUGGESTIONS! !!!!

THe doctor seen before was Dr Ley Noblesville Indiana and the East Indiana Treatment Center Lawrernceburg Indiana. Now do you have any direction to a doctor in South Indiana Or Cincinnati Area???
