Find A Pain Management Doctor For Methadone Maintence

Looking for a dr. In Los Angeles that will perscribe methadone. I moved here a year and a half ago from salt lake city. I've suffered a sever head injury and had to have brain surgery. As a result I have cronic headaches. I also have 4 collapsed disks in my back from riding motorcross for years. I became addicted to pain pills and ended up going to a opiate treatment center is SLC ut and they put me on methadone to manage my pain and get me off pain pills. I was on 300 mg a day at one point. I moved to Los Angeles a year and a half ago but I couldn't find a doctor at that time so ended up going to a methadone clinic where I have been getting my weekly doses at ever sInce. I have managed to taper down to 130 mg and ultimately want to get off methadone completly. I need to be under the care of a pain management doctor not a methadone clinic..... I feel like I'm just a number there... Nobody wants to help you get off the stuff. I need to find a doctor that can perscribe methadone for my in Los Angeles Nd help me taper off and find another way to deal with my pain. Im scared of what the methadone is doing to my body and brain. I feel like a prisoner to it! Please help me!

Where you technically being treated at the clinic for addiction?

Because if you were, then that is what is going to be in your medical records and a private physician cannot prescribe it to you for that, they can only prescribe it for pain treatment.

The best thing you can do is probably to see a pain management specialist and explain everything to them, as well as make sure they get a copy of your records. That way they can help you decide what your best options are going to be.
