Find A Doctor Who Prescribes Either Ritalin Or Adderall For My Adhd In Southwest Florida. (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI've had adhd since childhood and it has gotten increasingly worse. I've tried EVERYTHING and found that only these two medications really work. My doctor dropped me due to something regarding Obamacare and I NEED to have my prescriptions refilled! These drugs have literally brought my life back to normal! Please tell me of a doctor who understands the severity of the condition and will prescribe the right medications somewhere in Southwest Florida.
That's why Florida sucks!! So many obstacles for something that will helps us!
I had to go to another Dr today and they told me that I had to go see a pychiartist now in do than all. That's 2 hours for me and I can't afford the 500 dollars to see him. Any other advice? I was actually gonna ask for vyanese
Hi I just moved to Fort Lauderdale I'm trying to find a good doctor for adult ADD any help would be greatly appreciated
Please dispense actual advice on the health topic question and not on your personal uninformed bias and incorrect statements about guns. I get it, you don't get it. Keep it to yourself or at least get informed. Background check is needed on every financial transaction with a gun and drugs kill just as well as drugs because they are inert unless a human uses them.
Was the dr. named Dudney by any chance? almost identical thing happened to me.
I see this is an old post, I am going through the same problem here. I self payed $250.00 for an appt; all medical records transferred, my doctor from Colo personal home number, and was told "We don't do that round here." What?! Total of 2 minutes and refused to refund my money. The amount they want to charge for a Psychiatrist is insane. I have been written up 2x now at work for not paying attention to detail. I feel horrible...
I was getting my ADD meds (adderall) from a nurse practitioner in Baltimore. She sadly passed away and her office staff and physicians she worked under are not helping her patients get continued care. Any suggestions for a practitioner who will prescribe ADD meds to an adult in Tampa?
I have been on ritalin for 17 years. I had to change primary docs and the new one does not want to write my prescription. I finally had to make an appointment with a psychiatrist but nothing is open till April. Cannot find another psychiatrist that accepts new patients or takes Medicare. After agreeing to write the prescription for me until I could get an appointment they changed their mind and left me with no medication. Three days later I had a terrible headache and went to the ER, they did not agree with the doctor and gave me a prescription for three weeks, longer than they should have done, I was very thankful, but now I am getting low and cannot find a psychiatrist. It seems primary doctors no longer want to write these prescriptions any more. Does anyone know of a doctor in Prescott, AZ that would help me?
Dr
Branislav Stojanovic.I saw him for 7 years. When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. He was the first to get the diagnosis right!
Hey, in the same boat, from MI & I'm here. Just have the doc send it electronically to your closest walgreens or chain you use. Mine did it and I'm picking mine up-in fact my insurance might cover it.
I live in Michigan as well. I was curious how to have your doctor write an electronic script because both my psychiatrist and primary psychician are such a pain trying to get ahold of which makes it so stressful
Find a good Neurologist or a Psychiatrist that deals specifically with ADD. Don't bother with general psychiatrists as they are utterly useless.
Yeah some states override Fed mandates or find clever ways to work around them and that's great. Others are to scared of the Feds.
Unfortunately I don't think it's possible for these people to move and our main problem was the getting established part. I went through 3 months and 3 ER visits before I could even find a Dr who KNEW about ADHD and was willing to treat.
If you move to FL make sure you have good records IN HAND and find a specialist.
Re: Jacky (# 41)
They run reports on every patient through a doctor shopping network. It shows recent Rx’s where it was filled, how many refills and who prescribed it.
Re: IsabellaH (# 3)
Brevard County is the worst. I’m in same boat. I have eds but that’s are the recommended meds but no doc even a physiologist will write my prescription even tho I have extensive testing/ documentation proving I need them ! So beyond frustrated
I always thought Florida laws were very lax. I know a woman in Orange Park who stockpiles Xanax - gets a refill once a month with no problem. I thought the same was true with Adderall. It's this I-STOP crap and the sharing of information between the states that was never the case before - it's the future, folks. Get used to it.
I meant to say "I have NEVER seen a doctor for psychiatric medication"
Have you found anywhere? Also in Brevardkeep have issues
The irony. They love their guns in Florida, don't they? There's no background check needed to purchase a gun in many cases. The second amendment, you know. If you feel someone is looking at you funny, you can "stand your ground" and take his or her life. Easy, peasy, hey? What do guns do? They kill.
What do medications do? They help us live normal lives if we have problems. Background checks? I've read that doctors can just, willy, nilly, stop your medication because they think you may be doing something illegal with it. The think you may be doing something illegal. Pharmacies can refuse to sell you medications if they feel like it; medications that might make your life livable. Then there's the databases for meds (but no background checks for gun purchases). Every pharmacy can check every other pharmacy to make sure you didn't sell that one adderall you may have left. Background checks?
I really hate to bring politics into this, but Rick Scott and his Republican legislature don't believe in government interference, right? After all, we don't like nanny states, do we? Their vision is very clear when someone wants to buy a killing machine, but gets a little cloudy when someone, like me, needs adderall or norco.
Gun vendors never have to worry about their licenses being taken away, do they? Doctors and pharmacists do, though.
What the f*** is wrong with this picture? Guns great, medicine bad.
Has anyone else thought of this angle? Our nation is in big, big trouble. A couple of days ago, Trump said if there were bullets going in "both directions", the slaughter in Paris would have been avoided or lessened. Yeah, bullets flying all over the place.
I'm not digressing. But if someone "stands their ground" and kills four or five people, he gets to go home and eat pot roast that same night. The police didn't even question Zimmerman. He said he was standing his ground and they said, "Oh. OK." He was vindicated for murdering an unarmed teen-age boy. But try to get schedule 2 meds and you feel like the criminal that Zimmerman is.
However, *****s cheer for Trump and he'll be our next president. He'll probably personally hand out guns to people while Congress will outlaw birth control pills, schedule 2 meds and will put another insurance company in place that you have to pay before you pay the first insurance company to buy overpriced medications and see paranoid doctors. Neither insurance company will have the med you need on its formulary, so the extensive paper work and begging begins.
Yeah, universal health care will come between you and your doctor while guns will save lives. I know, I'm repeating myself, but I have to take a U/A because I take adderall. I moved here from California which taxes you to death so I can afford to live and it ends up that the "keep your government hands off my medicare" republicans run Florida with the intention of lining their pockets without regard to the harm they do to people. F*** Florida, Rick Scott and his legislature. By the way, I moved here because I'm 66 years old and retired. I'm now on what they call a fixed income. It's inexpensive and warm. I'm retired. I just don't have the money to move to every state in the union until I find one without politicians who are mentally challenged and/or greedy.
Detailed enough?
Obama screwed everything up for sure, big government are on irrelevant witch hunts to try and make themselves relevant to the public.
Try a good Neurologist or a Neuropsychiatrist who specializes in ADHD.
God bless.
