Find A Doctor That Prescribes Methadone In Tifton Ga

I need a dr that can prescribe methadone to me I've been on it for 12 yrs and I can't afford to go to the clinic everyday that 45 miles away I would like to get it monthly to save money I have a lot of health problems and this medicine is the only one that will help me please help me

I'm sorry, but if you've been going to an addiction treatment clinic, then that is your only option to be able to continue with Methadone.

A regular doctor isn't allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment and, by going to a clinic, that's what you have your usage of it labeled as, even if you were going for other reasons.

Additionally, under the new laws, general practitioners and surgeons will only be allowed to prescribe such medications for short-term treatment, such as for a few weeks immediately after someone has had surgery or been in an accident.

Anyone requiring long-term pain management will have to see a specialist that is trained in handling such issues.

I wish I had some means to help you, but I don't. These laws apply to everyone now and there is nothing that can be done about them.

"Hello to All" ;-) I really would love for a lot of "Peeps" 2 HELP ANSWER a few questions for me, (to understand), I have been on
Methadone now for 26, (Very Long) Years, $$$ (MONEY)!! But, of course like most of us I had Pain...I was in a Car Wreck back in 1986,..I had 8 inch rods put in Left Leg / with a lot more ;-( injury's . "Ok, Now for the Question,..? Can 'Someone' tell me the difference between Methadone & Suboxone? My Goodness at the money i've spent at the Clinic I could have bought everyone a NEW CAR & HOUSE by now...!!!

But, I also know that (Methadone) saved my Life,..!!! ;-) In the beginning that is Dec, 1989 when I got on the Clinic all my Family was (Shocked) & (disappointed) to find out that I was addicted to Pain Meds. So when I told my Mom, I thought she was going to have a FIT!!! U Know What I mean,...Lols,.lols,..!!! Because back in the day (Methadone) came with a 'Stigma' & nobody in my Family or any one we knew was on (Methadone). It was only for addicts. "Well" here I was at the clinic (Methadone) & I was going to be alright, or at least I was not out buying (Pills) off the streets or from people I didn't know! & I was alive......!!! ;-) "Thanks to the METHADONE",....but, now I hear that Suboxone is better for the (Pain),...So please give me your opinion? & many Thanks for reading!!! To me it's the (Lessor of 2 Evil's).....

Suboxone is safer by far because it has naloxone (a form of Narcan)with the opioid (bupernorphine). But that also makes it weaker than methadone, noq if you can possibly get Subutex instead which is just bupernorphine no naloxone then it just as strong or even a little stronger. I been on a for of suboxone for 5 years. It works for me on pain mgt., and dependence. Hope this info helped.
