I was able to locate a few pain management doctors in Boise, ID. Although I'm not sure of their reputation, I'd imagine they'll prescribe you what you need since pain is their specialty:
1. William Binegar, M.D.
1055 N. Curtis Road
Boise, Idaho 83706
2. Kirk Miller, M.D.
1417 N. 19th Street
Boise, Idaho 83702
3. Timothy Johans, M.D.
1075 N. Curtis Road #200
Boise, Idaho 83706
4. Christian Zimmerman, M.D.
1075 N. Curtis Road #200
Boise, Idaho 83706
5. Richard A. Dubose, M.D.
8950 W. Emerald St
Boise, Idaho 83704
I hope this helps!
Why did they cut you off?
And as to finding a liberal doctor, due to the new laws being enforced, that is not likely to happen.
If you require treatment for chronic pain on a long-term basis, you'll have to see a pain management specialist from now on. General practitioners and surgeons will only be able to prescribe them for short-term use, such as for a few weeks after someone has had surgery or been in an accident and all prescribing practices for such medications from all doctors will most likely be even more closely scrutinized now.
They are even setting limits for how much of any particular medication can be prescribed to one person per month.
Learn more Oxycodone details here.
And the best thing you can do when looking for a new doctor is to not ask for any particular medication, since most of them will view that as being drug seeking behavior.
Have you checked for any pain management clinics in your area?
I have been on methadone for my back chronic pain for the last six years. I just recently moved to Boise Idaho and I need a doctor that will give me oxycontins and or norcos for my pain. I am on disability because of my back. I took myself off of the methadone in March because of my heart condition now. Just moved here from El Paso Texas. I need to know of a good pain specialist that will prescribe oxycontin and or norcos. I also need a doctor that I can get into right away. Does anyone know of a pain clinic or a pain doctor that will put me back on oxy cotton and/or norcos. If you can help me with this I would appreciate it.
Try Shane Maxwell. He's the best! This site is asking for more detail. All I can say is that he's located on Maplegrove Road in
Boise, ID.
I know this post is old..... but u mentioned heart problems and methadone, and that u went off of methadone because of ur heart.
Did u go off it because u STARTED having heart issues after u started taking it? Or because they list heart problems because of methadone listed in the side affects.
I only ask because I took it for many years with no issue. It was SO perfect for neuropathy. then I started having people problems. RIGHT AFTER A NEW REFILL. But it took me along time to connect it to the methadone. Once I realized this, I knew I still had some from a previous refill about 6 months earlier. So I tried those. No side affects AT ALL. where as the refills that affected me were putting me into WD. but that's not why my heart was going into afib. It was DIRECTLT related to the recent refills. They made me shake. Horrible low stomachs ache AFIB and huge weight loss. I was not sleeping. I had this strange heart burn. I had never ever had problems with methadone in the past. So I compared the previous safe ones, with the new. The safer methadone would always dissolve the second the saliva in my mouth touched it, it was breaking down. I could never get water in my mouth fast enough before it was almost dissolved. The ones that were making my heart race didn't dissolve well at all.
Also tho they were BOTH made by roxan, the ones that made me ill, were just a shade whiter. And just a hair taller. But. The numbers on it were just the tiniest bit crooked. Or tilted I guess.
The numbers weren't very tidy looking.
It's hard for me to explain.
THEN TAKE HAD A SEIZURE! I had Never ever had a seizure. I have always eaten healthy and used to do all sorts of sports and activities. But after I got hurt, the activities were mostly gone. I worked back up to my 3 mile walk everyday. But none of the others. I had fallen. As a result after surgery my right leg is now 3&1/4 inches shorter than left leg. That really affected my back. I guess my point is, I'm not a drug abuser. So none of these side affects were from over taking medicine.
After this happened with the methadone it happened with a few other medication too.
I've either become allergic to it or to the binders. No. I take that back. I'm not allergic. I could still older medication. To me it seemed as if they have changed something in the formula. Oh I dunno. I'll probably never figure this out. But if someone has had the same or similar problem I'd like to hear it.
Sorry I kind of rambled. Again. Lol.
Any luck, I'm in a very similar situation in Boise.
Binegar will not prescribe pain medication period. He has me on neurontin. I have heard several times about the side effects about them and I am worried. He will give epidural injections. I tried this once and the next couple of days I experienced severe headaches and muscle spasms that I ended up going to the ER for. My general will not prescribe and refers me to Binegar. And Binegar refers me back tomy general. It's awesome. And the pain from my herniated discs continue by pushing into the sacral nerve.
Good luck.
Did you ever find a pain management doctor here in Boise? I just moved from Southern California and I was seeing a pain specialist there. When I went to the doctor here they acted like I was an addict! I have never abused legal or illegal drugs and have been more than willing to take drug panels.
I just went for my first visit with Dr. MIKE Harris and he does not prescribe either. I've been on 20mg of oxycodone for close to 3 years for Fibromyalgia. I just moved here from Las Vegas and I was surprised how much harder it is to get relief here! I'm currently on all meds used for nerve pain and also muscle relaxers, but it just doesn't cut it. I'm not sure who in the Treasure Valley to go to? I'm a professional Photographer and this is making life hell getting threw my day. I've already tried 2 epidurals and PT. The Epidurals only last a month - if that. Suggestions?
