Filling Oxycontin In Port Charlotte (charlotte County)

Been having a very difficult time finding a pharmacy that has 20mg Oxycontin's in stock. Everywhere we've gone, does not have them. One the Medicine Shop doesn't carry them at all. These are always a problem and its crazy, people who are in legitimate pain are getting put through hell! Please if anyone knows where to go, let me know.

Hello, Sooner! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're having such a problem getting your prescription filled.

The issue on the east coast is actually due to the shutdown of a very large pharmaceutical distributor that was working with most of the large chain stores. The DEA found that they were moving a suspiciously large amount of controlled substances each month, which exceeded that done by other, similarly sized distributors.

Unfortunately, until a new company takes over, it has left most pharmacies in a lurch, it's very difficult for them to get new stock in.

Have you tried any smaller, mom & pop type pharmacies? That might be your best bet, since their customer base is usually smaller, so they may have some in stock.

Well that certainly would explain a lot. If they would just provide this information to patients it would be very helpful. Not that it helps get the medication that you need, but that you know there is a real reason behind it. Not just pharmacist not wanting to dispense it. I appreciate the information. Thank you! I will try some of the smaller places to see if they have any left. Thank you again.
