Fill Oxycodone Prescription - How Long Is The Rx Valid In Az

I have been told over & over that my prescription for oxycontin has expired after 14 days. I have had this problem with CVS Caremark, Inc Mail Order Pharmacy numerous times. This went on throughout 2014 & in to 2015. They continue to screw with me. They will fill it, then they won't. I have been told by my Dr. who's office is in NV that it is valid for 30 days, but because I live in Arizona, CVS says it's expired after 14 days. I know for a fact it is still valid but they continue to argue with me. I am wondering if any one else has experienced this problem with CVS & if you'll be so kind as to reaffirm the RX is still valid after 14 days. They have also gone as far to tell me the reason they are holding my RX was because the DEA no. is not on the RX when clearly it is. Never in my lifetime have I had so much trouble filling this same RX, which I've been on for several years due to chronic spinal problems. Neck & back. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you. I know I'm not alone & I'm betting this board lights up with the same type or maybe different types of issues people have with CVS CareMark, Inc. mail order pharmacy. They really need to get their act together. I'm ready to sue! They've messed with this important RX & my health for way too long. Harassment is not good enough of a word. More like total is respect for the patient.

The issue might be due to the fact that your prescription is from Nevada, and you are trying to get it filled in Arizona. Laws can vary from state to state, and most pharmacies have to be extremely careful about filling out of state prescriptions, especially for a controlled substance, since they are very hard to authenticate.

The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Have you tried seeing a doctor in Arizona, or using a pharmacy in Nevada, where the prescription is written?
