i was told by my pharm that they are takeing anything oxycontin off market stopping all together also heard end of year supplys ran out jan willbe back on market is any of this true

Kaywood, I agree with most of this but don't blame the "stinking drug addicts", it is a supply and demand market. Those pill mills, legal and illegal were cashing in on the flow of patients just as much as the "drug addicts" were cashing in on doctors who did not check the patients conditions to see if they really need those meds. I have been taking pain meds for nearly 35 years, from Florida to now in Tennessee. Those greedy pill mill doctors would hand them out and get people addicted so they would come back every month or people would start up a small business to get the drugs and take them back up north and make $10,000 every month...I don't like people who abuse pain meds either but it's not their fault, it's the lazy, greedy doctors.

I just wanted to say I totally gree with your statements. The government has found a way to control all the chronic pain patients and make their lives useless. As soon as I found out how hard it is to get oxy codone I stopped getting the prescription. I switch to morphine which makes me sleepy all the time and adds to my narcolepsy problem, and also gives me very little pain relief three pinched nerves and spinal stenosis I now spend most of my time in bed at age 57. I decide to get a script for Oxycodone again and try to fill it in Lake County Florida. So far I just went to CVS and they said I will not be able to find it anywhe.re. I went home in tears. Here I have a script in my hands that will give me the ability to walk and some quality of life and I can't even get it filled. Chronic pain patients who take their meds exactly as told, do not sell them, do not give them away, do not abuse them, are being punished for no reason ....all because of stinking drug addicts who abuse the drugs for fun and the greed in America. I dont know if I will start my search Monday to fill my RX or not. I will have to spend lots of money in gas and use my very old car that could break down any day now. This whole situation has made me realize that there are a lot of evil people in the government and in the DEA more evil and sociopathic than I ever imagined. Take care

I believe if one person dies it's to many, yes one person with a real illness dies from withdrawls the DEA which some how been given the power to stop me who has a bone disease and 2 operations and a 3rd on the way and has taken my rights,I havent given them away ,they have taken my rights, I dont go to a pill mill,or a loser doctor who doesnt know what he's doing, but the DEA IN THE LONG RUN WILL LET CANCER PATIENTS DIE IN PAIN. Will let other pain stricken people, withdrawl, Why ? Lets think. Everybody knows the government is getting paid for letting Ilegal drugs enter country. Boy that must have hurt when Doctors started taking there junkies with pill mills.So short term lets kill off the really sick people, get the junkies back to buying who knows what, in England they give people Herion ,Pharmcical grade ,by a Doctor .Crime went down, work went up,drug over doses almost gone.So why is the DEA stopping real Doctors from writing scripts {real Dr's key word,speaclist,internalist,incolxgist} well write them but there not going to get filled corrupt GOVERNMENT. there losing to much money. May the Lord give them what they are dealing out Pain.

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MY PHARMCY cvs TO FILL MY SCRIPT FOR A MONTH AND THEY DONT , i HAVE A SPEACLIST, A BONE DISEASE , TWO OPERATIONS ,NEED HIP REPLACEMENT, AND BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS PLAYING DOCTOR, REALLY SICK PEOPLE CANT LIVE NORMAL ,JOYFUL LIVES, LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE CUTTING INTO THE ILEAGLE DRUGS AND UPSETTING THE NATURAL BALANCE OF CORRUPTION OUR GOVERNMENT IS USED TO POCKETING MONEY FROM. WHAT A SHAME . THERES A REAL REASON THE FACTORIES MAKE MILLIONS A DAY, WHY ARE THEY HOLDING THEM BACK, OR BEING TOLD HOW MANY THEY CAN DISTRIBUTE , THE FOUND THE LINE WERE THEY CAN MAKE MONEY AGAIN, LIFE IS NOT BASED ON MOVIES,MOVIES ARE BASED ON LIFE. Methadone kills more people than oxycodone and morphine combined. Also, the addiction to methadone and the withdrawal are 10 times worse than coming off of oxycontin or oxycodone. Do yourself a favor, and flush your methadone down the toilet! I have two friends that will literally take your life to take your methadone. It is FAR worse than any oxy out there. People that think they are being cured by methadone are only fooling themselves and falling further and further into addiction. Additionally, methadone is a long acting schedule 2 opiate pain killer not something to take you off of opiates.

My Dr Fills me the same medicine every month. My Pain Dr is in Tampa use to live over there and never changed Dr's because that can be a problem in and of itself. I'm disabled, I live in Flagler county now they are telling me it's a state law that you have to have your prescriptions filled in the county they got prescribed

So what happened? I went to my doctor on the 16th and for 3 days I went to about 50 different pharmacies. (no exageration) never found them but I keep hearing that so and so got them filled in tampa and this person got them filled in Plant City. But I can't imagine where cause I have been to just about everywhere. This Christmas has been horrible. I had to buy enough off the street to make it through. And I am in so much pain. luckily i also get methadone. so I am not withdrawing just hurting real bad. I really feel for those people that are in true pain and only not only are in pain but also withdrawing. Hopefully at the first of the year this will be over with.

I live.in tampa and was just called by my pharmacy yesterday bc my monthly.dr appt is next week. The pharmacist informed me.of the same thing. Their distributor is out or met their allotment.for oxys for the year. She is trying to find different distributor but being told by all that nothing will be available even to pharmacies until after the first of the year. It is very dangerous to just stop taking this medicine you would thonk they would have some solution as many people.that take this medicine. If anyone knows any place in rampa.to fill let me know. Mr.dr.is very well known and.respected legit dr hopefully he will havce a solution when I go nect week.

No, I am not aware of Oxycodone being completely removed from the market, nor can I find any information on it when I do a search, or check the FDA site.

We have had other users that have had problems finding it, but I also cannot find any listings on the FDA site about their being a shortage.
