Fill Oxycodone Prescription Las Vegas (Top voted first)
UpdatedI'm just curious if a pharmacist could tell me why they have to "verify" my oxycodone script? when they verify these prescriptions with the prescribing doctor, what exactly is being verified? Does the doctor himself have to take these phone calls all day from pharmacies? if im already in a pharmacies computer and getting same meds for a year, then isnt that adequate proof that my script is legit? or is something else being looked at? Thanks for your answers: )
What physicians in las vegas prescribe oxycodone if you don't have a track record at a pharmacy or a history from a doctor. I've gotten them for a while for pain from friends and they work wonders. I would like to get them legitimately. Can anyone make a recommendation?
People in their 20s really do get chronic pain. I can vouch for that being a 26 year old female who has been in severe knee, back (lower, middle, and upper) neck pain and pain in my feet that is so bad that I have to crawl out of bed in the morning.... Worry about your own pain and not what people in their 20s have.. Just be fortunate you didn't have to go through that so young!
@ Patricia - I'm 28 years old and have Lumbar/Sacral Chondroid Chordoma (a bone cancer of the lower spine) The fellow patients I see almost daily as we receive treatment for an astonishing number and variety of almost always intensely painful bone cancers are of all ages, including a heartbreaking amount of children. That is just one clinic treating one type of disease - point being that pain is no respecter of age and that we should not judge, but be a respecter of ANYONE dealing with living a life while trying to manage ongoing physical pain. I know that this is not the subject of this thread but I felt I had to comment as I deal with this situation all the time. I look young and reasonably fit and receive a surprising amount of negative feedback when I am not able to function as people seem to think a younger normal appearing person should.
It is my understanding (though the pharmacy is very secretive about it all) that they have to verify your DEA record and also the doctors DEA record, and then also verify that you actually went to the doctor and what he/she prescribed. I'm not 100% sure but this is what I have learned from researching online. And that this is what certain pharmacies are choosing to do, it's not actually a DEA regulation, policy or law as they like to tell you to sound all important. This way, if they think you fit the "profile" of someone that isn't in legitimate pain (how they can tell this you got me) they don't/won't fill the prescription. In my opinion it's going to get worse and it's going to take a class action lawsuit by the people that are truly suffering to get anything done. If and when that happens I'll be one of the first to gladly join the bandwagon. This is all a severe invasion of privacy and over control on the pharmacists part. True.
I know this is a little late from your post but the small part I read before I got so angry I was boiling said that 20 and 30 year olds dont get pain like that. I am 26 years old and have a list 2 pages long of what is wrong with me and its been going on for more more 10 years. Yea I agree there are those that do whatever with their meds, but I am a freaking legitimate pmp and it is so wrong of you to accuse a 20 something year old of being a drug dealer. Read some facts and the diseases that cause infants and babiea pain. No one derserves that. Its not fair to a single one of us. But do not put me down because I am in chronic pain and just lost my job because of it. You do not have to be old to be in pain! Oh this my blood boiling.. I hope you see this!
Yep, welcome to my nightmare, They busted my doctor of 10 years on Nov 13 2013 , no referral to new doctor, I was totally screwed , I went into full detox and almost died. No one cared, I finally found a dr. But he only gave me 30mg time released mscotin every 12 hrs and 1, 10 grm norco, went from 150 mg of roxicodone which wss wonderful my life was great, to 80 g or garbage, but when u hit that horrible detox you will be grateful for anything. I never understood why anyone would do H. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND NOW. I am an athletic person , marathon runner, and now I gave trouble washing my butt. Why would the Government do this to real pain people.
does anyone know where in las vegas i can go with my local id and script for oxycodone and get it filled/ which walgreens has it?
I have been going to my Drs office for about ten years all of a sudden my Dr I was told moved to florida no explanation. This is a multi Dr office. So I was then shuffled from Dr to Dr. I had to go every month in order to get my refills I have no insurance and my visits were $60, then I go and was informed that cash patients was going up for pain management patients to $100 and insurance patients $80 and another lesser fee for regular non pain management patients. Now I have car-pule tunnel both hands and very bad sciatica on my left side. My Dr was nice enough to let me come every two months would give two scripts to give the pharmacy one not to be filled till the following month (Walgreen's)Now on the sign next to the increase was one that said we are not a pain management office. I asked the receptionist If you are not a pain management office how can you charge extra for pain management patients? Her reply was "you get pain medications don't you?" I said but your sign says you are not a pain management office so how can you charge me those fees " her reply was that's the way it is.I beleive it was a thirty dollar difference. Here because I have no insurance they charge more and also even more if you get paim medication -a pain management fee-but they clearly have a sign they are not a pain management office. This was 2 years ago. I had a visit coming up in about a week ,they called me on a tuesday and said I must get down to the office that day and sighn some papers andsubmit to a UA/ It was about 10 am and I was at work on the othereside of town told the girl I could not make it that I had an appointment the that friday -they said it couldnot wait. I explained I had no problem submitting to there request but I had work and cannot just leave like that and I asked if it could wait till friday-"NO," she said tthat the dea came and went thru all their records and since it has been over a year since my last UA whic came back negative. So the first avaailable time was thursday they sad they had to have the diagnostics in within two days. So when I went to the office the receptionist said what are yoiu doing here you dont have an appointnebt today and I explained what I was told and she looked at me as if i had two heads. She shook her head and called the drs asst. So I saigned papers stationg I would go to another Dr and get scripts for pain basically and I submitted a UA. On thursday when they called to confirm my appt for friday they said the dr had a meeting and if I wouldnt mind coming in on monday and was told "DO NOT be late or miss this appt for it would be another month or two to get an appt. So come monday I get there early and they were a little busy so I sat till they called me and the receptionist said what are you doing here-said they changed my apt from friday to today- she said it mentioned that you have been discharged-I said there must be some mistake-she called the drs asst and said there was no mistake and they sent a letter to me in the mail telling me why. They refused to tell me why. said I should receive the letter today. I was shocked. As the days were passing and no letter I left many messages for them to call that I was out of my medications but no letter and no return calls. I have my own cleaning business and could hardly work.I went down to the office and told them I never received a letter only a bill for $50 for the UA so the assistant came back with the UA report and letter stating the would see me one more time but would give me no pain med.The report said that I came up positive for coke, not going to lie I have done coke but not for over ten years and was not around anyone who did. It also had a negative result for xanex which stated im not taken my meds when in fact a took one the night before and that it did display positive for other meds I take and but was not listed as meds that I do take. They didnt want to heare anything turned and walked away no refills nothing till I could find antother dr I had to ask for a referral. So I get home and proceed to call these Drs ,I need to work but I am in so much pain and feel very sick. Well most were not taking new patients and the others the prices were unbeleivable ranged from Inital visit $250-$450 followups the lowest was $90- 300 unbeleivable I said to my self. I was also hearing some pharmacies for the oxy 30s was charging to fill a script for 120 pills were charging $200-to 475. They are the drug dealers making profits and able to charge ehat ever they want.. These companys make the stuff put it out there get ==you addicted and then start making there one fees. My husband is on didabillity and takes those lucky for him he only pays $2.75 for 150 30 mgs if he gets genereic which bother his stomach he was getting the ones with an m but thanks to obama if he eants those that done make him sick it costs us$300.. Now they are talking that people are selling them on the street--well it seems that the drug dealers on the street are not making nearly what the drs and pharmacys arte making--millions and hten wont even fill of prescriptions. Last week I went to arizona to get away and while hiking I threw my back out. I went to the dr there and h lowered mujine to 154s, thats ok but by the tme I got out the pharmcayhad closed. I spotted a walgreens down the road and brought in 4 scriots to be filled all that I ahve been previously rprescribed. they said it would be abut two hours so we waited. Went back they said they had to wait till morning to verify. I need to get back to vegas for work the next day so they gave me back the oxy script so I could have filled in vegas and kept others on file and could get them filled with the other in vegas. When I got back I went to Walgreens that I have been usuing for years, they accepted the oxy script and would fill the otheres. 3 hours later they called and said they could not fill bercause it was out of state even tho the dr has a Nevada license also. They apologized and sent me on my way .So the days went by and pharmacy after pharmacy wouldnt fill either they sorry were out or because it was from AZ. finnaly I tried another pharmcy-Walgreens it wqas friday afternoon and they said the would just needed to verifyand it coulkd take a couple of hours when I called at 6 pm they said i would have to wait till monday when the Dr was in Come Monday they call and said theat another walgrenns wouldt fill it so theyu couldnt. But they did fill my xanex which was from arizona . So now my rxs were to expire the next day so I went back to my walgreens and spoke to the pharmist and told themthat I could of had my filled but because they said no they wouldnt -not because it was out of state as you see they filled my other scrits. I asked if each walgreens had there own policy he said no then said sorry we are out of them anyway. and wouldnt jhelp me. So on I went pharmacy after pharmacy must have been to over 60 all ere out they sa Now what do i do cant make it back to arizona in time This is smply unbeleivable.....why are they sdoing this to us and why can these Drs and pharmacies set there own fees and charge what ever they want just befause they know we need them and most will pay anything not to get sick. Legaliszed drug dealers- and they are worried about the street dealers??? someything needs to be done.
Actually you are completely wrong. I was 26 years old when my wife and I was involved in a serious car accident. I've been in pain management for 9 years now. I am not a drug addict, I have documented proof of valid medical injuries including the 8 or 9 sets of TESI injections plus 2 failed surgeries. So please use your brain instead of making assumptions that just because of someone's age means they are not in pain and just seeking drugs.
I'm a regular customer @cvs and it still doesn't matter . On April 9 I went to fill my pain meds , Percocet 10/325 , methadone 10 . She looked at the paper long enough to see what it was and told me " our pharmacy is only allowed to fill so many if these type of meds per month so I cannot fill these until April 16th" . She handed them back but I could tell she was lying . I wasn't filling early , it was my Dr I've seen for 4 yrs & I've been going to this CVS since 2000 . It was a savon before a CVS . Well , to test the theory , I went back 2 days later ,(it was now April 12 , not April 16 . Lo and behold ! I was asked "when would you like to pick these up ?" . REALLY ? I asked if they had gotten a truck in since the day before , no , no truck . If you say anything to them , complain etc . , they won't fill for you again . I lost a Dr for speaking out , one I had seen for 9 years (no , not my current Dr , the one before) . I am disgusted by this kind of mindless punishment.
There are plenty of 20 and 30yr olds in far more pain than your arthritic back! Have you ever heard of cancer? CRPS? Ever see a 15yr old girl suffer from endometriosis? Broken bones, sever injuries? Pain sing limited to a certain age nor are people being prescribed Benzos! Some sever Panic attacks can drive a person to the point of suicide! A slue of mental illnesses need benzos for treatment! Next time don't make such an ignorant comment! You are having a hard time filling your script because you have probably been on it for years with no other treatment and it appears to the PMP system that you are being over prescribed!
You shouldn't judge people based on their age. I have had to take pain medicine since my early 20s, so no, you don't know what's going on. I've had an autoimmune disease, diagnosed at 13, with painful complications. I don't look sick, but I am. Just because someone is young, doesn't mean they are just trying to get drugs.
Which type of verification are you asking about? There are actually two different types.
In one instance, they would just be calling your doctor's office to double check that the prescription is legitimate and in that case, no the doctor himself doesn't have to take the call, just someone at the office, such as a nurse, that can verify that the prescription was written for you, the prescribed medication, strength, dosing and date it was written.

The other form of verification is one that's in-house to the pharmacy filling the prescription. In that case a pharmacy technician or a newer pharmacist with less experience may read the initial prescription and count the pills to fill it and then a senior pharmacist or pharmacy manager double checks it to verify that no mistakes have been made.
I've experienced the second instance several times myself, when the pharmacy tech would get my prescription ready, but she can't give it to me, until the actual pharmacist does the verification of it.
Walgreens got in trouble with the DEA and the agreement in the Las Vegas area was that they will due further due diligence on schedule drug scripts. This was a deal the DEA and Walgreens made. That is why it takes the time it does.
I have been on oxy 30 mg for 3 years and all of a sudden my pain Dr is putting everyone on Opana 30 XR. ( generic is Oxymorphone) I just finished my first 30 days they do not work nearly as good as Oxy and the Opana works about 6-7 hrs if I am lucky. I talked to my DR about it and he told me that they are going to stop making OXY.... what??? So he can not prescribe it anymore. So he changed my Opana to 40 XR see if that lasts longer. I did ask my pharmacist and he did verify that they are cutting back on OXY and that they were raided last week for reordering OXY, this is a big chain reliable grocery store. He said they are watching the DR and whom is dispensing them. What sucks is those that need the drug for chronic pain relief has to start over to try to find something comparable, is there something?? my pharmacist gave me a couple names of other meds that I should try if this does not work, Good luck Nevadans but by reading on here its all state.
hi,
I've been having a hell of a bad time also ! I was al most killed by a drunk driver 28 years ago 32 surgeries, just had hip surgery the other day. the az board of medicine revoked my doctors liscescence last month. no dr or clinic will take me coz of my extensive surgeries.so im suffering from hip surgery without any pain control, where I had been on 300 30mg oxys and 90 60mg oxycontins ! us former patients are trying to get a legal suit going against the az board of medicine and we need to get congress to do a criminal investigation against the DEA. had I known our country was going to turn into a socialist dictatorship, I never would have fought for my country !!! Our group wants to link up with other groups. if we unite and fight. that's our only chance to arrest this terrorist behavioir committed by the DEA. my email {edited for privacy}, hope to hear from you. take care
Just so you know I found it super offensive that you Would say that someone in there 20s experiences no pain. I'm 28 years old and have been dealing with chronic pain since I was 22. Your luck your pain started for you later in life. Don't judge everyone. I'm a disabled veteran, have a great job, and full time student, a mother. Dealing with chronic pain is debilitating.
I have to disagree with you as well as agree with you on different things you said. I'm 35 and have been PROPERLY taking 30 mg roxis, 40 mg opanas and 2 mg xanax for over 13 years in 3 different states so I disagree with people in their 20's or 30's not needing them. I hit a tree going 85 mph without a seat belt when I was 19 yrs old. And no, I wasn't under the influence of anything, I took a long trip and fell asleep. I am extremely pissed off how hard it is to get them not only from a Dr but to find them in a pharmacy. This is because of the people who don't need them. The ones who are just getting high or selling them. They have really screwed up things for those of us who need them and take them as prescribed.
All the drugstores are doing it if u arent a regular customer...
I just wonder what is really going on. I dont think the drug companies are going to just sit there and take a loss.
