Cannot fill them anywhere in Bradenton or Sarasota. Please help I have a real doctor and the pharmacy I have been going to the past year in my city says they will no longer fill out of county. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.

the only reason so much is happening to change things is because those who wanted the changes came together and gave their concerns and their 'wants' a voice through media and whatever means available... we, those of us who rely on pain medication to get through another day, should not be forced to suffer!!! We need to have our voices and cries heard too!

You know i really feel bad for you guys down there, Its a shame that people who do not have pain screw it up for the ones who really do need those. I have read the reason you guys are having problems getting oxycodone and oxycontin are because of those quick fast pain clinics writing for people who dont need them and for people who drive to florida from all these other states trying to get them so they can sell them, So now the DEA and state officals are making it hard to get those because they are being so highly abused in Florida. Those people have made a bad name for the state of Florida. I truly wish it were different so the people who need them can get them;

I understand the need for some sort of regulation when there are young people overdosing because they have been handed a script for 300 OC. i have seen the posts from people wanting to know how to 'smoke' a pain pill- jeez!!!! But what about those of us who live and or vacation in Florida and cannot fill prescriptions that are needed so that they (me) are not in considerable amounts of pain so we can enjoy our lives- I cannot do back flips because of my meds but I can sit and have dinner with my family instead of having it brought to me in bed- Thankfully the weather is turning here so i am not in a rush to move but I cannot go through another cold winter with all this metal in me. that is why i was looking at returning to Fl. Mexico is another option. I know of several that are crossing the border during the winter instead of Fl. That may be where me and my purse end up next year if things do not improve in the US.

Rae, I am the Donna from APF. I get emails from visitors and snowbirds that come to our state all the time too. I think more out of state folks need to contact or write a letter to Pam Bondi, Florida attorney general and let her and all other state reps know that our visitors here for the winters and you can't get your scripts filled from your home state doctors. Since our pill mill problem. I think pharmacies are afraid to fill. This is not good that our state tourists and protential residents can't fill meds here either. This whole problem is making more hardship on our state for our snowbirds. Those reps need to know that are harming our states tourism as well as fl residents. This whole thing is not balanced and is affecting everyone. I will write these people a letter myself. They are going over board and this doing harm. The pill mills are gone but I guess the state can't see it nor the pharmacist. Thank all for writing a letter. Keep me posted on anymore even more happenings with this. The American pain Foundation wants to know. Florida is not a good state for pain patients to be moving into right now. Its all been changed because of bad doctors and addicts. Hope this helps.

ive been in pain management for over a year was getting 30's then switchedto dilaudid 8 went to publix for six months now they say they everythings back ordered i have a 2 year old son and when i dont have my meds im in so m uch pain i can barely go on with daily lkife

exactly!!! what about those of us seeing real docs for real pain... im in murfreesboro and go to pain management that has an office in antioch and here in murfreesboro- dr ladson was amazing but he is no longer there :( after 1 day of nasty detox, i had to go to the ER as last year when this happened I had a siezure

It is insane. There is a better way to catch the pill heads. And it doesn't involve punishing us! Where in TN are you? Which clinic do you use?

Again here on this page is more than one Dona. I am Donna. I wasn't using any last intial. So, now I am Donna Ratliff. This will make easier for everyone. I have been getting confused and knowing I didn't make those posts because I will near brandon not anywhere near Pinellas county. Come join our pain group on facebook. We ahve been able to come up with many ideas and have been able to get our meds filled. Plus, we are fighting to get all this straighten out. Rae, We have the opposite. Live in TN, love our doc in FL and suddenly Fl has decided not to fill because we live in TN. The pharmacy I used for 16 years in TN has said they won't fill FL script because of DEA pressure. All my scripts are legit and filled for 8 months no problem in Fl.

Donna, which Wal Green's location finally filled for you? We have been filling for months with no problem at WG McMullen Booth in Clearwater then all of a sudden - we choose not to and we won't fill for you. Trying to find one who will. Thanks

I currently reside in TN and have been with a pain management clinic for a few years after a failed 360 lumbar fusion with 2 cages, screws and rods. I have never had a problem with filling my scripts (120 30mg Roxi and 90 20mg Opana) in TN. Recently I went to Fl where I have family and am considering making a move for financial reasons. My surgeon in TN referred me to a surgeon in Ft Myers to see since i was going to be there for a couple of months and may make a move. I did not see my PM Dr for February since I was going to see the new Dr so I would not have an issue with my Ins filling my scripts. The Drs spoke beforehand so all was legit!!! The new Dr whom i like very much, wrote me the same prescriptions I get back home and i went to several pharmacies to fill with scripts, records, and even in my full body brace and walker- but was told they were out. No one told me anything negative, just that they were out. I do not drive and only have a passport which is what i use in Tn to fill. I am now heading back to TN for my Dr to exchange for TN scripts. My question to any others in FL, Is this problem an ongoing one even for regulars? I can get a Fl ID if I need to but I may have to rethink a move if I am going to be left in pain simply becuase I live in what appears to be a pro-pain state-

legalscriptoxy. You need our support group. We have lots of tips on how to get your meds filled. Plus we are also a task force fighting for rights to keep pain care available in our state. We do not want our state to end up like WA state. they have NO Dr's or meds! Go to facebook. in the search box type in "American pain Foundation action Network for Florida residents". Leave me a message there and ask to join my group. I will then send you a friend request and ad you to the group soon as you except. I keep this group closed for privacy. That's why it's a bit of hassle to get into. This keeps out any persons that we don't want. Plus keeps it comfortable for everyone. I notice there are several Donna's on here. I am the American pain Foundation leader for FL. So, I don't know who these others are, but they may be some of my memebers. If a post doesn't say only Donna then it's not me. LOL

It stink but the Pharmasist has the right to refuse to fill any prescription they want and some of them get a God complex when they dont even know what you're suffering from.They look at everone as if were all drug addicts.

Donna, I know you mentioned something about a meeting that was suppose to take place regarding pain medication. Could you tell us what it was about and if anything has been or will be resolved soon?

well.. pharmacists can refuse to fill a script and they have.. NOT for moral reasons..supposedly... if someone looks drugged or drunk etc "Of Course" they will refuse just like a bartender etc..

BUT!!!!! they have No Right To Judge Any One on what meds they take OR how much dosage The Doctor is giving in a legitimate prescription..
that is judgmental and they should be turned into whatever State you live in to The Board of Pharmacy

Nice piece, bravo, so true and disgusting!!!! I really feel for you! I am going through the same BS. Bottom line the pharmacists have way to much authority. If a person has a legitimate Dr. & script, the pharmacist should simply fill it.He should have no say so on what a Dr. gives us!!! They simply have to much power and it needs to be rectified. They think they are God!!! Hope things get better for you and all of us that are in pain.

i AM CURIOUS TO KNOW AS WHEN IT BECAME THE PHARMACIST , INS CO OR DR TO DECIDE IF I HURT OR HOW BAD MY PAIN IS. I AM PRESCRIBED 180 10 MG NORCO EACH MO . I USUALLY GET THEM FILLED UP TO 3 DAYS EARLY BASED ON WHAT BILLS ARE DO OR IF I CHANCE RUNNING OUT ON THE WEEKEND OR IF LEAVING FOR A VACATION. THIS LAST MO I HAD HAD MY SCRIPT FILLED 6 DAYS EARLY BUT DUE TO THE AMNT OF PAIN I AM IN. I WENT TO HAVE IT FILLED AGAIN 6 DAYS EARLY BUT AFTER CALLING MY DR. OFFICE TO LET HIM KNOW OF MY RECENT DIAGNOSIS OF M.S.. I PLAYED PHONE TAG WITH DOCS OFFICE ALL DAY FRIDAY AND ARGUED WITH THE PHARMACIST FOR AN HOUR AND THEN I HAD AN ATTK TO WHICH AT THAT POINT MY DAUGHTER TOOK OVER. I LIVE IN MO.AND HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHER PHARMACIST THAT THEY DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE MY REFILL DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE INS CO HAD ALREADY PD FOR IT AND WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE PHARMACIST NEEDS TO ADDRESS MY SITUATION WITH MY DR ONCE MORE.i INITIALLY HAD BEEN PRESCRIBED OXYCONTIN 20 MG 3TIMES A DAY FOR SPINAL INJURIES FIBROMYALGIA AND OSTEOARTHRITIS. I REQUESTED SOMETHING ELSE BECAUSE EVERYWHERE I WENT TO GET THEM FILLED THEY ALWAYS SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE GENERICS OR THEY WERE OUT. EVERY TIME !! nOT TO MENTION I REALLY DIDN'T WANT THEM IN THE HOUSE WITH THE AGE GROUP OF KIDS COMING IN AND OUT AT THE TIME. I LIKE MANY OTHERS AT THIS TIME IS SITTING IN PAIN LEVELS OF 8 AND CANNOT DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT. I WISHED I LIVED IN A MEDICAL MARIJUANA STATE BECAUSE I KNOW IT WOULD HELP DESPITE THE BS PEOPLE SAY BOUT MARIJUANA IT DOES HAVE MEDICAL BENEFITS. IN CANADA THEY SELL WHAT I'M BEING DENIED LIKE WE SELL IBUPROFEN, OVER THE COUNTER. I AM IN PAIN, I AM NOT SOME DUMB ASS LOOKING FOR A HIGH. IF THAT WERE THE CASE I'D SAY TO HELL WITH IT AND GO STRAIGHT FOR HEROIN. PLUS FROM WHAT I GATHER ITS EASIER TO GET AND CHEAPER.
