Hey, i got a serious question. I live in PA, and i just happened to find a clinic in the michigan area with a good doctor. so my question is if i go to michigan and get a script for pain meds, how would i go about filling the script. being from PA, do i even have a chance of any pharamacys in the area filling it. I know i have a less chance if i bring the script back to PA because no one will fill it if its out of state. can someone give me some helpful insight on what i should do so i dont waste a drive and money. please help.

More power to the DEA and whom ever is responsible for cracking down on availability of narcotics. It is long over due. Even though they are placing great hardships upon the legitimate pain patients they are doing the correct thing. If the dope dealers and junkies hadn't gotten into the illegal drug trade for money this situation never would have showed up. Anyone stupid enough to go to a cash only doctor or pharmacy is fooling himself that he is going to a legitimate organization, they are not! Real legitimate doctors take Insurance and not cash. Long ago Tennessee stopped all cash customers you must pay by a documented pay system that Id's the person so he cannot use a false name so he can go to multiple doctors. Come on now, you people cannot be that stupid to believe that a doctor that dispenses pain meds would only take a ridiculously large cash payment, just like any drug dealer these doctors want cash so they can hide it. These doctors are no better than the drug dealers on the street that are often supplied by these same doctors. So now the drug dealers must go get a real job or return to robbery and bank robbery to live the "HIGH" life they once supported by selling narcotics.
Perhaps this war on drugs will actually be won, no longer will it be a guise for hiring a large government workforce geared at employing the former military that are essentially unemployable because they never learned a real trade other than law enforcement of which we have more per capita than any other country in the free world..

Narcotics are monitored by the Feds. they keep close tabs on these meds and the pharmacies and which doctors are writing them. One thing you do not want to do is get Narcotics from more than one doctor or more than one pharmacy. Crossing state lines will not work.

Having been in a pain management program over 10 years, I will say that I have moved 3 times to a different state. Each time I have had a doctor appt scheduled in advance. I have forwarded all records requested. I would never move without having a doctor in place. If you follow all rules, never miss appointments, submit to testing as requested, a pain doctor will help you. Not all doctors are pain management doctors. Many refuse to even deal with narcotics because of the paperwork involved. Look in the yellow pages under pain management. If you don't like the doctor, don't dr shop. Contact a local hospital for a physician that will be your treating physician. If you aren't willng to have a Treating Physician monitor your case on a monthly basis, you most likely are not going to get your meds on a monthly basis. Most narcotics are given only by picking up a written 30-day prescription. You must tell the physician where it us going to be filled and submit it to a pharmacy within a few days. It varies State by state as to how fast it must be turned in. It s not always easy. However, if you need this type of medication. You need to follow the rules.

When the prescription was written the doctor should have asked you where it is going to be filled. That is where you have to fill it and within a short time frame. Filling narcotics in another state than where they are written, each state has their own Policies. Best policy is to take the prescription directly to the pharmacy that is closet to your physician as soon as you receive it. That way if there is a problem, the pharmacy can contact your physician.
Trying to do anything other than a legit prescription made out to you from your local doctor and filled within a day or so most likely isn't going to work.

Some of you haw mentioned trying to ind a doctor in Michigan. Where about in Michigan are you located? I'm in Battle Creek and might be able to find you a good, legit pain doctor.

The war on pain pills may look like it is working but on the surface those who are abusing pain pills are now moving up to H. The war on drugs will never be won because drug abuse is a mental illness. Most people do not realize that but instead' they think of as a moral problem. Until people have a attitude adjustment the downward spiral that addiction to drugs cause the war will never be truly won.

I have just spent the last few minutes reading all of your desperate pleas to get the information regarding this questionable pain mgmt office.
Most of you are in serious need of help and the fact that you plead so publicly for information on a pill dispenser just proves my point.
I'm disgusted with some of these posts but saddened by the majority.
I wish you all the strength to overcome your addiction and to find something other than narcotics........ that is REALLY WORTH living for.
