Fibro Pain Helped With Mucinex

I take 160 mg of Oxycodone a day. It does not help my pain it only makes me not care about my pain. I still take this but 2 months ago I happened onto a life saving med....Mucinex 600 mg extended release.This medicine has changed my pain level dramatically. I know they dont understand why in the studies but it is helping people to live more pain controlled. If you also take this please reply to this. I want to see if other people know about this wonderful med that doesnt give you side affects. If you havent tried it I beg you to do so it could mean decreased pain and you can buy it at about any grocery or drug store without a script. Before starting this med, even with the high amounts of pain killer I could hardly get out of bed or walk ...now I am living again!! Yes, I still take my pain med the combination works but I have had my Dr lessen them by 120 pills thats 480 mg less a month over the last 3 months. I will continue slowly dropping until I find the least amount I have to take of the Oxy because I hate my body being a slave to a opiate drug.

Mucinex contains the active ingredient Guaifenesin and is normally used to help alleviate mucous build-up.

It is, however, incorrect to say that it has no side effects, because while you may not experience any, it is possible that other people may.

They may include: nausea, vomiting, excessive uric acid and kidney stones, especially in large doses.

The big deal is the guaifensin does great dissolving mucus in the lung, going into the lung. Where is you pain, can you describe?
But you are right, it's a great product. I see it is being restudied by the FDA right now for some harmful considerations.
