Hello, Tina! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in pain.
Not every medication works for everyone that tries it, unfortunately, so this might not be the right choice to help you.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
When I tried it, while on pain management years ago, it worked very well for me, but when a friend tried it from his doctor it did nothing for him, at all.
What other medications have you tried?
I've been on Fentanyl 75 every 3 days for a few years. I find that it does help my pain eminsly. I forgot how much pain I really am in untill I went past 4 days. It was close to intolerable at best. I have had no side effects that I know of. There is addiction with it, but if this is a lifetime pain my Dr's said the addiction is a small price to pay if you get your life back, in an upright position, it's worth it to me...
Same here, 24/7 nerve pain without it and it sounds like you have a good Dr who understands the benefits of what these meds can do. Keeps people from suicide and keeps them a working member of society. Hate the negative that comes with lack of knowledge and improper use though. FYI to anyone reading this: educate yourself before starting any drug and PLEASE never use FENTANYL without a strong opiate tolerance because THAT is what KILLS people.
