Fentanyl Withdrawal Symptoms (Page 7)

I'm trying to wean myself off the Fentanyl patch. I went from 75 micro-gms to 50 now I'm on 25. Having a problem and not sure it is related to the decrease in the med. It's been 20 days on the 25 micro-gm and I'm going crazy. I need to keep rocking, moving in any way b/c my body is very restless. Is this a symptom of withdrawal and what do I do? I cannot take it any more.
Hi Stephen,
I am a professional nurse (as you know) and a regulatory expert, usually do high level DON or CNO (Director of Nursing or Corporate Nurse Officer) I made several attempts because Comp was not paying the travel to California and other mileage over 16 years which left me without funds trust me it's insane. Just took them to court to win this.
Since SSA (the local I'm usually handled out of Philadelphia local do not even know how to use the rules it's insane a long story for when or if I'm stable) I spoke to 3 SSA attorneys for I would have to represent myself on OVERPAYMENT which they do automatically and I had worked one month then laid off ok, and they tried to hit me for two years yep that's how dirty it is...
I was informed that when you are (in any state) on opioids you are now a liability, it's not much different then your trucking rules and if something occurs on the job you are an automatic liability and at fault not to mention responsible for all costs to the corporation.
No one has the legal right to do so and docs who are prescribing that level of medication for people not only working, doing housework and all else is hurting the rest of us with the new FDA mandates.
If you have decided not to share your doctor I do have one in Slidell, but from where I'm coming I think N.O. or B.R. is quicker travel.

Thanks P450, I didn't mean to lose my temper but I felt like I was under attack. My state has strict regulations and doctors lose licenses if they do not adhere to guidelines.
P450,
I hate to tell u this but there r a few ppl my pain management doctor see's and has been on fentanyl a few yrs and still works; one almost 7 yrs and another over 12 yrs. I think a lot of it is where u live and the rules and guidelines for ur state.. I mean take one drug say like tramadol, in some states its a narcotic in others like Louisiana it's dished out like candy.. so a lot of ur medications r governed by the state u live in and there rules and u dont know what state hop lives in and there rules..
I just wish my medical condition would let me still work, believe me I was a long haul trucker (owner operator) and I made more money in one day than what SSI pays me in a month. But with my medical condition I can and do lose all feelings in my legs 2 to 6 times a day for a couple of hours (cant walk nothing) so they told me that's the end of my working. But really im damn glad and proud that ur still able to work and just a might jealous to tell u the truth LOL. Just take care of ur self and hope u make that retirement.
This is not the place for judgemental people. You do not know me, my pain, my history, my diagnosis. Yet you judge everyone that has something to share. If it was all bad, the medication would not be available. That is why special pain management doctors monitor patients. Don't blame me because your doctor "dropped dead" or perhaps cut you off and now you are pissed at the world.
Hop,
No one should be on Fentanyl for that long who does as much as you are doing sorry. It is not appropriate with the new FDA mandates and it's an insult to those in need who now have difficulty obtaining PM to hear you gloat, and tell everyone that you work, do house work, and all else while using this powerful drug for all these years.
Did you try weaning a dosage to see what kind of poison it truly is?
Did you consider what happens when Dr. "FeelGood" drops dead or is shut down?
No one will write for someone like you that medication with what you are doing, not one.
Try it and report back.

I am a lucky person and have a pain management Doctor that understands Fentanyl. I am able to work a full-time professional job with the help of the pain relief that fentanyl provides. I don't have much energy after working but I can make dinner, do laundry, go shopping, etc. I was in so much pain before I started using the patches 7 or 8 years ago. I don't want to stay on them forever. I just need to get through another 2-3 until I can retire. I am sorry that this medication has brought some people much unhappiness.
Sandy and all,
As a professional I hate the day my physician now deceased began me on this drug. It is a poison and was not adequately evaluated prior to being put on the market. I cannot walk without it and now the FDA has those like me (rare disorders who metabolize rapidly) near death for who will treat us?
I had Dr. Famous in California the past 5 years. When state regulations changed so out of state patients as myself got dumped and cannot be properly written for NOW I have no physician for 10 months and am almost near death. I cut back to below 30% because I put aside as he taught us. However, when I began this death drug almost 20 years ago I had panic attacks, impending doom and at five foot nine was down to 80 pounds most of the time. If you move your bowels or when you do you might lose another 15 pounds for when you finally go there is another person inside.
I have over 400 disorders and found that the patch addressed structural pain whereas Oxycodone is a life saver for my RSD in comparison.
I require brand on top of this due to allergies mostly to adhesives we found on generics for they contain silicone and latex.
It is a highly dangerous drug right now because pain specialists are being pissed on and fearing the FDA instead of being physicians and handling our pain.
I have also had lots of experience with fentanyl patch. Was on it for ten years so I don't judge anyone either. Some people need this narcotic to function as I did. The dosage kept going higher and along with oxyneo and Percocet. I became a Zombie. I lost those ten years as I spent them in bed. When I look back I lost so much and had no muscle left. Now I am off all of that and am much stronger. I can go out and do things. I can drive again! But most of all I have my mind back. I am not against fentanyl. I just think people should be more cautious. Yes both doctors and pharmacists should give more info on this drug. I'm on here just to give my opinion so maybe I can help someone. It is only my opinion. Fentanyl almost killed me. I hope I don't ever have to use it again. Don't get me wrong, it is a great pain reliever. Good luck to everyone!
Thx you Sandy
Like I said I been there and on fentanyl and got off it . And don't ever want to go back to it .. but for the ones still on it . I do know and been there . And I dont judge one way are the other
Sandy, thanks for standing up for those who would not have any life without fentanyl. Patient education is key and doctors must remember to tell each patient the pros and cons before starting any medication.
Good luck to you.
Sandy
I agree but also u got to remember there are ppl out there that really need fentanyl just so they can try and have a normal life . U cant throw the barrel away just because of one bad apple .. I believe that doctors need to educate patients alot better about fentanyl .. I know my doctor didn't really say to much about it to me just said I want to try you on fentanyl I ask ok what is that . He told me it was a pain patch that you wore and changed every couple days .. that was my intro to fentanyl
Stephen,
Yep and throw em in the swamp the gators need a snack to remain in that water...
It's pathetic to even think to sell to helpless people kicking JOE.
Although I must be on Duragesic to walk and live (and if I do not get a physician soon will die).
As my deceased PM used to say an opiate addict can kick in 3 days he may not feel happy on day 4 but he's done with the sickness, those on Duragesic go through extended kicks, that is why I asked you where you put your patch to kick that fast.
I use mine in the renal area direct blood flow and was so skinny when pain was not controlled there was no fat now I have more normal BW.

I agree Hop. It might relieve some symptoms but it won't remove the tumor. So many people are trying it. It's crazy. I'd also like to get back on to the subject of Fentanyl. We need to get awareness out there about it.
Sorry but you cannot convince me or intelligent people that hemp oil was responsible for the disappearance of a tumor on your spinal cord. It sickens me that people are using this forum to deceive others that are sick and in pain for their personal gain. Shame on you!!!
P450,
Don't worry im crazy not stupid. I don't really think hemp oil can remove anything myself someone just trying to make a sales pitch.. we use to call them snake oil salesman a long time ago. And in some places in La and south Tx they still tar and feather ppl like that LOL
Stephen,
Hemp oil does not remove spinal cord tumors this is a sales pitch. I'd bump the post. I would not suggest anyone thinking any product is suddenly going to remove a spinal cord tumor. If it disappeared then the initial test was wrong (mixed up with someone elses test so you should not have been in pain or needed Duragesic), or that was not what they saw initially at all. Just the thought of contacting people to sell natural products tells me scam sorry."little c."
Little coconut
I been off the patch over 2 weeks now quit cold turkey after being on it 3 yrs ( 150 mch every 48 hrs ) .. just took benadryl every day no w/ds at all .. im not saying everybody can do what I did I just have a really strong will ( thxs to uncle sam over 40 yrs ago ) and sometimes thats the first step
Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I myself found to be in that position 11 months ago and I'm here to tell everyone. ..you can get off the patch, I did. The secret really is a combination. ..Hemp oil is #1 weather you believe it or not. I had my MRI few days ago and I was told yesterday that the huge tumor inside my spinal cord is GONE!! Yes it's a true miracle. Anyone who wants info about this just let me know....stay pain free my friend.
Little coconut, a black box warning just means that there will be information booklet about potential side effects and overdosing. There is also a warning on the outside of the box. It does not mean the product should be taken off the shelves of pharmacies. It's the equivalent of the Surgeon Generals warning on a pack of cigarettes. You don't even need a script to buy those!
P450,
