Fentanyl Withdrawal - Day 7 W/ Intermittent Norco: Anyone Have Ideas How Much Longer?

I was on 75mcg since about March of 2013 for a comp injury. It was a game changer b/c it allowed me to walk again, pain free. But, in the end it became a necessary evil. Drs wouldn't touch me b/c I was on it. No pain control after surgeries, etc. I've wanted off of it for some time and finally started a taper a few months back under the supervision of a pharmacist and doctor. The plan was to taper me down a little then switch me to the Butrans patch. HOWEVER, due to comp/insurance issues, I was forced to STOP it completely at a 50 mcg as of Friday, tho I was given Norco to take the edge off. Night before last was the worst. My body wouldn't "settle down", if you will, but there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. I also had a new type of pain in my hands/calves/feet. I cried myself to sleep. Last night was more of the same just not as bad. I am nauseated as hell right now and could care less about food. I am running out of Norco so it's going to be a long wknd. Does any one know how much longer....give or take a few hours/days....this may/may not go on? I can't afford to NOT be eating as I've lost about 15 lbs in the last 6-8 weeks. Any suggestions you have would be appreciative. PS: I go back to see A doctor on Monday just not the one that is dealing w/ the pain meds. Thanks!

Hello, Cataleya! How are you? I am so sorry about what you're going through.

You were on it about a year, so it may take a week for the worst of the withdrawal symptoms to improve, but you'll likely experience some for about a month.
