False Positive On Hair Follicle Drug Test For Methamphetamines

I have custody of my two oldest children and their mother has a problem with methamphetamines. I know this for a fact because that's why we separated, but she is claiming that the positive hair follicles that she has taken and failed are all because of her asthma medicine. Are there any asthma medications that cause a false positive on both methamphetamines and amphetamines on a hair follicle test??

My boyfriend has to take a pre eployment hair follicle test. He has been a heavy user or meth in past, but gave it up with the exception of 2 or 3 times in the last couple years. One of those times was @ 3 weeks ago. It had been several months since his last use. He snorted 3 small thin lines (1") over a 24 hour period. He had a haircut 1-1/2 weeks ago, and wears his hair @ 1 to 1-1/2 long. His test was supposed to be in 2 weeks, but may be moved up to be in the next week. What are his chance of passing? Should he get another haircut before? What is the minimum amount of use that will show up?

my grandson had a hair folical done he is 18 months old the results were amphtamine 1081pg/mg and meyhampheiamine 6452pg/mg but his blood and urine test were negitive my question is if the levals were that high wouldnt it have shown up in blood and urine and are those levelas high i mean was it from second hand smoke or more according to the results

I quit smoking meth over 6 months ago. I had a 9cm hair test and there was still meth detected in all sections of my hair, including the root. The so called experts conclude I'm still using, right up until the time of the test. I'm going to lose custody of my kids and no one believes I stopped when I said I did. I need another expert to interpret my results or I'm screwed. I've changed my whole life around to keep my kids. And this dodgy hair science is costing my kids knowing their mother loves them without exception. Can anyone help?

Will a hair folicle test show any prior one time use of methamphetamine use in the week before the test. If methamphetamine was snorted one time 6 days before

I'm on probation for methamphetamine and I recently got prescribed Wellbutrin. I've been doing hair follicle tests every three months for the last two years to prove to the courts that I have changed around my life. I was reading that Wellbutrin will cause a false possitive result for ampheamine in a urine test. I'm a little worried now. Does it show up like that in the hair follicle test as well? Is there a way to differentiate, if so?

Misti, your having hair follicle tests and you've stopped using. I'd like to hear more from you. Have the tests been accurate? Do they prove you stopped when you said? I smoked meth for 6 years but stopped using 9 months ago. My hair tests say I'm still using and I lost both my kids to my ex. I'm so frustrated!!

Hey gotta a call from GM to come do the first round of testing 7/01/13. Prior to the call I snorted crushed pills that contain methamphetames probably regularly for 2 months not lines but lil bumps usually when drinking in the evening. Anyways I hadn't smoked cannabis in bout a month like beginning of June end of may n quit immediately snorting the methamphetames the day GM called. I've been drug free (all frowns) for 30 days no nothing. They havwnt called me yet to do the hair test but I haven't gotten the letter of death either. Oh almost for got...I have dreadlocks that are just touching my neck. Not willing to cut my crown I shaved my pubes for clean hair bout 1 1/2 wks after I quit. I have Toxin Wash n the All Clear products but not sure if they'll work with all the other s*** in my hair just in case my pubes aren't long enough. Help...Me...Plez!! I really need this job regardless of how sum ppl may feel bout my life.

I feel for u, similar has happened to me but with urinalysis. My kids were taken solely on bogus test results.... Not a single accusation of abuse or neglect, and not a single bad comment about my parenting from anyone & dcfs took my children anyway... Preventively! The burden of proof is completely on me, yet they won't give me access to my samples for retesting. Its 'legal kidnapping' & it has to b stopped! Dcfs needs to have more evidence than toxicology tests in order to snatch babies away from their families!!

I've been taking asthma meds Bronkaid and I also take Phentermine for weight loss I recently tested positive for methamphetamines. I am not a drug user. I'm about to lose my children. Can these meds come up as a false positive? I'm also prescribed hydrocodone, somas, colazepate and temnazepam...i'm going out of my mind without my babies!!!

I iost a 100k.yr. job do to false positive hair testing. I have a heart pacemaker..not even a candidate for meth! No bs. Sample consumed, so no resdress...jobless and reputation lost. Plus no unemploment because of the dope thing. Non-user///home loser.

I agree! I quit my $55 k a yr job to work from home making hair bows and little childrens clothing. I did this so I could spend more time with my girls and then this happened.. no signs of abuse or neglect at first Cps was telling me I needed 30-90 days of in patient rehab! That's nuts! First of all I'm not an addict I'm in the middle of remodeling a new tome home and starting up a small business. This is whole situation is about to break me!

I have a question so cps came into my house on Thursday of last week and did hair folicle tests on everyone including me and my 3 children and my step son and husband well just yesterday they came and took my kids out of my home because my youngest apparently came up testing positive for meth but funny thing is nobody else's test results were in just hers! How could her test come back possitive when she is not around it she never ingested it she ain't around smoke and yes I was a user of the drug I shot up before all this went down so I just need a answer on this because basically I think the lady is lieing and doesn't think that I am going to do whatever it takes to get my kids back

So I have not used methamphetamine since finding out I was pregnant in October. I had my daughter on March 3rd. UC said I was positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine which is bs. Anyway, I did a hair follicle test on March 20th which came back negative for everything so it should prove I didn't use. Then I did another hair follicle test on April 17th that said it was positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, and there is no way. I still haven't used at all. But I do have asthma. Won't the hair follicle test indicate that it's the L isomer and not the D?

Im in the state of Montana but it was my 4 yr. Old grandson that was tested by social services & my daughter was arrested for child endangerment and felony abuse of a child as a result of the positive test results on her son but she hasnt had custody of him for about a year and prior to being placed with me, social services placed him with my niece who admittedly said she wouldnt be able to pass a drug test.

If you do your own test you would get a 1-page report. Consider what is a stack, it's not that expensive. If your daughter's hair is 3 inches long the test can go back 6 months. Make sure she doesn't cut her hair. {edited for privacy}. If child services can't produce a chain of custody form that shows your daughter's signature than how can anyone be sure it was actually her hair?? What state are you in?

I took a 5 panel hair test and came back all negative. On the toenail test I wasn’t over the cutoff level to be positive which was 500pg/ml. It read methamphetamines 356pg/ml and amphetamines 109pg/ml. But yet they still called it a positive?

Dont know the date collected or no documentation at all. Social services told me on March 13, that hair follicle was done & it usually takes 2 weeks for results. Next thing I know my daughter is being arrested & charged for child endangerment when her and felony abuse of a child & in the criminal complaint it gives the level for methamphetamine. That's all the info I have. If I demand a retest, if its possible, what are your recommendations?

Wow, I don't know what to tell you. The only advise I can give you is I could do a Hair 5 Drug Panel test that would only go back 30 days, but the collection has to be done properly. Every half inch of hair will go back 30 days so I could do a 30 day (half inch sample) or 60 day (1 inch sample). What was the date collected in the test in question?? Who knows if that was even his hair?? Do you have a copy of the chain of custody?? Do you have a printed report or did they tell you the level??

Now im positive that the social service department is corrupt because with your confirmation of what those levels mean, it just proves that his test results are false because my grandson was taken away from his parents & placed with me. He was in my custody for a little over a month with no contact with his parents, per social services, when they came & said they wanted to do a hair follicle. My daughter was arrested for child endangerment and felony abuse of a child because of the results and I'm 100 percent positive my grandson wasn't given methamphetamine at least a month and a half prior to the test because he was with me every single day & he definitely has not gone through any kind of withdrawal or has shown any symptoms of withdrawal in any kind of way!! I dont know what to do or how to prove the results are wrong but I'm positive for a fact that they are now.

The albuterol might show up as Amphetamine on a drug test. Not sure about the Methamphetamine. You might contact an MRO (Medical Review Officer). An MRO is a doctor trained to interpret drug test results and say what might be causing a false positive. An MRO would also testify in court. They have an association web site (aamro.com) where you can do a search for an MRO in your area. I have no connection with this web site. I would suggest getting a Hair 5 Drug Panel test to see what turns up. It looks like the combination of some of those meds might cause a false positive for something.

I came up positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamines on a 14 panel nail test and take adipex, albuterol inhaler, valium, lomotril, temazepam, allergy meds otc including flonase and all the otc allergy meds, and a few diff antibiotics in the last year. I also have hep c. I’m so mad and upset. I’m going to have another test ran but in the meantime I’m not allowed to see my daughter! I DO NOT take anything that’s not rx’ed to ME and I drink. Which is legal. I just want to cry. I’m being labeled as a drug addict and I am far from it! Good luck! My attorney even suggested I take a polygraph and I agree. Something is very wrong with the test.
