False Negative Test For Narcotics Need Help
UpdatedI had the stomach flu and have been on MS cotin 30mg 3x a day and Percocet 10/325mg as needed and my pain management decided to give me a saliva test. They were aware I was sick but did not advise me to put down I my test that I had not been able to keep anything down and had been sleeping 12hrs a time. I was very ill with the stomach flu. I also let them know I had not taken my drugs in 24hrs. My test came back as a false negative and they discharged me. I have terrible spinal stenosis and a failed back fusion and cannot be off of my meds. I am trying to get into other pain clinics due to they would not allow me to re-test, even though I offered a hair test, urine, anything. I do not know what to say to the next doctor I see. Should I be honest? I am afraid they will not treat me even though I did nothing wrong. Also won't they ask for my medical records from my pain doctor before them? Any help appreciated I cannot find any help online and am running out of my MS cotin and will not be able to work without it.

I took my Opana 3 hours before Dr's visit and came back Neg. for opioids. THis happened also when I was on 180 mg's of morphine a day plus Roxycodone 3 hours before test. Now I am discharged after being on med's for 20 years and scared to death and in pain! Don't know how to call these evil doc's out on this. HELP, ANYONE!
I have a similar problem i had two tests show up negative for my meds. I was able to prove i had one of them as it is a patch but i still got b****ed at. I have been looking it up this is a big problem. VA study showed 44% false negatives said some drugs are not sensitive enough. And some drugs wont show at all.
I just called up one of the manufacturers of swabs for oral testing who told me if false negatives are coming back it is most likely something that is being done incorrectly in the collection process such as not fully completing the test. There is a collection indicator window, it usually has a line or several lines in it and the line must be totally full or an incomplete amount of saliva is collected. I was also told there are a few instances and this does happen although he would not tell me exactly what but said he would have to know a detailed medical history to see if this was possible in my case. My problem is I keep getting false negatives with one of the drugs that I take (methadone) which I have been on for 24 years and my pain meds Dilaudid and Opana not registering. I never have this problem at pain management. The problem is at my Methadone Program where there is a very nasty Doctor who has a preconceived notion about all recovering drug addicts. She has told the director I'm selling my meds. This is a joke that is not very funny. Without my meds I probably would have an extremely hard time walking as it is. I am still in pain despite the meds and I am taking high doses. I have breakthrough pain and it is not relieved by my breakthrough medication. He also suggested since they are unwilling to do a urine test that I contact the lawyer.
