Finding A Pharmancy W/oxycodone In Florida
UpdatedI HAVE BEEN IN "A LOT" OF CRASHES SINCE 83 AND JUST STARTED TAKING MEDS 3 YEARS AGO, NOW AM HAVING TROUBLE, LIKE EVERYONE I KNOW, GETTING MY SCRIPT FILLED. ALL THE PHARMANCY SAY THEY HAVE THEM TRIPLE BACK ORDERED. IS THIS ANOTHER "DELIBERT SHORTAGE" BY THE POWERS THAT BE. IF SO, WHY THE "HECK" CAN'T THEY MAKE SURE THAT REAL PATIENTS HAVE THE ABILITY TO FILL THEIR SCRIPTS. AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT ADDICTS THAT GET SICK AS HE-- CAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND THEIR DRUGS. WHERE CAN WE GET OUR OXYCOTON FILLED IN MIDSTATE GULFCOAST FLORIDA? WE, I NEED THEM TODAY, YESTERDAY!!!!WSZBS

I'm sorry, but there is really no way to know which pharmacy, in any given area, is going to have any particular medication in stock.
How are you contacting them to ask?
If you are just calling them, then you are not likely to get correct information, since the risk of theft is so high. In most cases, when someone just calls, the pharmacy will just say that they don't have controlled substances in stock.
To really get an accurate answer, you will have to actually go into the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand. If you just call, they have no way of knowing if you are a legitimate customer.

Does anyone else have any suggestions to add?
I feel no one in pain and is dependant on these kinds of meds, should there ever be a shortage, and if there is... I think doctors should be notified before writting prescriptions. This is totrure and suffering for no reason. Also, I understand the pharmacy not giving info over the phone, but also, pain patients with limited income should not have to drive all over town to tons of pharmacies to find thier meds. Just rediculous. Something needs to done. I'll bet plenty are on the streets but legitimate pain aptients can't get thiers filled. Nuts..Area just outside Tampa has no oxy 30's. Now what? withdraw and suffer? Life is getting even harder.
The war on prescription drug abuse is uneccessarily harming legitimate pain management patients. I personally had to visit over 10 different pharmacies over a three day period in order to get mine filled. I have been unnecessarily in pain for three days and was seriously contemplating going to the emergency room for help. It was just out of sheer luck I finally found a Pharmacy that would fill it.
I have been a pain management patient for 5 years and am a working profesionsional and for the first time in my life I felt like a drug addict. On my first few attempts to fill my prescription I got a polite response of "sorry we are out right now, please try back next week" So i left thinking do they really think I could go a week without my medication..lol.
Anyways it was not until my fourth Pharmacy did I actually start to get frustrated and then made the mistake of actually trying to talk to the pharmacist about the shortage problem and if they could provide some suggestions. Basically i was trying to avoid having to go back to my doctor only to get another worthless perscription. This is very time consuming and frustrating. After going to the same pharmacy for 10 years I was shocked about the insensitivity and arrogance of my pharmacist and that of every other pharamacist I tried talking to. They all were short of being rude and would say nothing but "sorry there is nothing we can do or tell you". (I do understand the fear of being robbed for them being tight lipped).
It was not until I was headed back home after visiting my 5th pharmacy of the morning did I find a Walgreens that not only had the medicine but were polite and were willing to discuss the problem with me. Talk about relief. (Temporary relief anyway)
It is a shame that after finding a medicine that works for me and lets me stay employed, I have to go back to my doctor and discuss other alternatives due to the governments knee jerk actions to crackdown on drug abuse.
Yes, I am all for a drug database and arresting people over doctor shopping, but there has to be a better way to crack down on drug abuse without denying the medication people need in order to function. I am just sick over how many people out there are suffering because of the artificial shortage the government has created.
I hope there are politicians out there listening, because their current approach is hurting untold numbers of patients and will only increase the amount of Emergency room visits, and probably force normally honest people to seek drugs elsewhere.

my doctor and pharmacist both helped me. my doctor prescribed a higer dose that was more easily obtained and yes let me take half a pill. check with ur doctor first, second my pharmasicist found out which drug stores had the medicine. I am happy to report I am off all that stuff yes I did it cold turkey it took a couple months to get my head together. it was a rough road.now after i got clean 2 months went to psych center and they put me on suboxne. had never even heard of it. the doc just assumed thats what I wanted. so I learned some very hard lessons. First I understand pain. second i understand dependancy. I also understand its big business. The medical field is thriving do not mistake business for care they seem to go hand in hand. Be careful what u wish for u might get it. ay 1 point 40mg oxy a day 8 mg of daulid 60mg of oxycodne and 8mg of xanax and all the loritab my stomach could tolerate. couldnt move, was instructed to stay in bed yeah I reckon so. a couple of my friends called after about 3 yrs and told me to get a grip. so i did to let u know i do advise a more structured detox. I can tell u I was nothing but pure SICK. To tell you the truth the pain meds did more damage than good,Im always going to have pain, but I dont have to be dependant on the drugs anymore. Thank God
Randolf, I totally feel your pain. This is getting stupid now. I know exactly how you feel. You should join the american pain foundation florida on facebook. Go there and help stand up for your rights to pain care! I hope you recieve this message. Your right VOTE! also speak out for your rights. Don't let the pendulum swing to far to the otherside. It has to be balanced. Right now, it's a mess but should be cleaning up soon I hope with the monitoring program. We need your support.

The Stealth Virus is a vicious and destructive herpes viral infection. It attacks your central nervous system. Twice as many people a year commit suicide than AIDS patients. SEVERE NON STOP PAIN! What is really the problem? It is not CARE! It is about money. The next relapse I have from this nightmare will be my last. IT IS ABOUT PAIN MANAGEMENT!
