Eyedrops After Cataract Surgery

I'll be having cataract surgery soon. Is there a natural eye drop that would act the same as the ridiculously overpriced prescription one? It's an antibiotic. And there are 2 others that are prescribed for inflammation I think....all totally 400+ dollars in the US.

No, there is nothing over the counter that would be the same. However, you could explain the expense to your doctor and ask them about possibly prescribing cheaper alternatives.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of most eye drops used after such surgery as possibly including eye burning, stinging, redness and tearing.

Thank you. The expense is one thing more on principal, really...gouging comes to mind. However, I'm not on any other drugs so was hoping to avoid these too.

Thankfully it's temporary so will just deal with it and appreciate that this procedure is available and I'll have better eye sight on the other side. Thanks again for your response. I can't think of anything else but appreciate your offer.
