Eye Drops With Azelastine

I was using Bausch + Lomb eye drops for years with good results. Then insurance companies made me switch to generic Azelastine HCI by Apotex Corp and in the past 3-years I'm sure there were other manufactures because the bottle has not always looked the same. I've discussed the terrible side effects with Generic brand. I'm told it's the same as B&L but it's not. This Apotex Corp burned or stung so bad that I jumped in the shower with my clothes on. I've always put a drop on my inside wrist and wait a day before ever putting liquid in my eye and though this is not a full proof way of knowing if the drops will burn it certainly makes me feel a little more at ease before using. I never had a broblem until generic and now I'm using/trying many over the counter brands with no help. Any advice or information on why Generic stings my eyes? I only use them once then trash em. I ask the pharmacy if they plan on changing brands. I have to use the same pharmacy.
