Expired Orphenadrine Safe To Take?

I have a chronic back pain, and have many Rx from 2005. Could I still use them? How old is too old?

As with anything, whether it be drugs, food or drink, you should not take them if they are out of date. The date is on the packet for your safety, and you could experience more adverse effects from taking out of date medication.

Also most medications can begin to loose their effectiveness at any time passed the expiration date (it would be difficult to pinpoint exactly when it starts degrading), so it would be best in your case to just request a new prescription given the length of time it has been out of date. However, if you'd really like to be certain about the pills degradation, you would have to take them to a lab and have them analyzed for quality. I don't know how to go about that procedure, but I am sure it will be cheaper and less stressful to just get a refill.
