Hello, Kim! How are you?
This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it may have lost efficacy and not work as well as it did, when new. Thus, according to the FDA, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply from your doctor.
Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, nervousness, and insomnia.
Is there anything else I can help with?
