Expired Acyclovir Medicine

I have acyclovir with a date that is 2 years old. Is it still effective since it has not been opened? It is stored in a dark, dry cabinet. Thanks.

It does not become dangerous, once expired, but it may have lost some efficacy, thus it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if you need to take it.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and flatulence.

Are you on any other medications?
