Expiration Date For Potassium Tablets

i have some Klor-Con 8meq tablets that are 3 years old and I want to know if it is safe to take them. I am currently on this medication again, (being given with my blood pressure medicine) and I wanted to know if I can take the ones I have on hand.

Since they are that old, there's likely been a good bit of degradation, so you probably won't get the full dose, if much at all.

How did you have them stored?

If it somewhere such as a bathroom medicine chest, where they were exposed to heat and moisture, that would really accelerate the degradation.

I have since gotten a new prescription because I felt they would not be as effective. They had been stored on the shelf in my linen closet.
