Hair loss is actually reported to be a common side effect of Depakote (Valproic Acid).

Generally, this type of side effect won't go away until the medication is completely out of your system. But if you haven't already done so, I would suggest talking to your doctor about any other alternative treatment options that can replace Depakote.
