Escitalopram Side Affects

I have been on Excitalopram for about a little over a year. I was feeling tired but I could not sleep at nights or take napes because my mind was thinking and thinking and i was restless and I could not stop shacking my legs because of the restlessness. All this even though I was exercising 5 days a week. I thought I was over doing it but then I took a break for two weeks and it did not help. I felt more anxious and angry as well as mood swings at times. Please help?

Sometimes these medications can have the opposite of their intended effect in some people that take them. You'll likely need to try a different drug, because if such side effects haven't stopped by now, then they aren't going to.

When are you seeing your doctor again to discuss the issue?

It took me a year to figure it out. I thought it was just me. I e-mailed my Dr. and told her I was tapering off from 20mg to 10mg. she said ok. But it has been hard. like i put on my other reply to you, i feel a little better now.

I bear loss in business.and i came into depression. After that i met a sycatary who gives me some tab and sleeping tablet which i take for 2 years and i was o k. Again 4 months ago i came under depression due to some financial and family circumstances.now i have again starting taking the medicines called escitalopram and clonazepam 0.5 at bedtime my age is 54 years. I am not taking proper sleep even after 4 months. Kindly advise to continue this medicine or some other salt. Sir when i suffer from this my heart starts beating fast i feel as i will vomit and my body fill with pasina.
