I have been taking Eptoin 100mg 3 times daily for the past 2 years. When will get rid of the giddiness ?

Hellow Sister, I am Ganesan, I too very worstly affected by chronic epilepsy. Better to stop such very old and severe side effect casued medicines. I consult with the Neuro Dr.Sankaranarayanan who is at Tambaram Doctor's plaza. Even they confirmed as Co-genital problem but still the medicines with heavy dosages I can manage because of my Neuro's suggessitions. He is very friendly with the patients.
Further more if u need any clarifications pls cnct me.

My doctor advised me to gradually lower the dosage so that the sudden impact of leaving the medicine doesn't happen. He asked me to reduce from 300ER to 250 for a month the 200 for a month, then 150 a month, then 100 a month, then 50 a month and finally 0.

Seizures of many types - tonic-clonic seizures are mostly suffered at later years. The general seizures are better as they dont cause severe damage to brain, and other neuro sensitive regions.

I suffered tonic clonic seizure at 33, even fractured my hand of violent movements during that. I was put on eption 300mg / day, life seems normal.

But after 1 year onwards, I got insomnia and it is still there after 6 years. I suffered another severe episode of seizure I voimited blood also, after stopping eption, on a neurologist advise. But again put on same dose.

So I continue till now and suffer bone loss, liver problem (SGPT levels rise), constipation and oflate suffering memory loss and confusion. I had to leave thriving career as stress is another factor that causes seizure if you have suffered once. so try to be calm.

This medicine is once started is forever, until you live, though not happily....life is harsh on me.

Hi Kumar,
I had readed your problem and i have suffered with the same problem when im 25 years now iam 33 years. When iam 25 years i got fits and doctor's advise i am taking EPTOIN 100 MG 3 tablets daily in the night time but till now i did'nt got any side effect so as per my problem taking Eptoin will not get any side Effect. And i am employed at INDIA INFOLINE LIMITED as a Sales manager and can do all the efforts as my colleagues do.

Dear i do suffring from the same as i have MNC in my brain due to eating of cabbage i m taking 3 100 mg tablets at evening time from last 1 yr and i got the attack again aS DOCTOR HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL ouccer any time when you have stress and low sleep. aswell when these warm will die. si i sujjust you to take tbs reguerly in a day as i do have 11 warm in my brain -98160-61111

Dear Kumar, I too have been an Epileptic since Yr.12 after an operation on my left thigh bone.I have no other problem.I take Eptoin100m.g. 3 times a day.Long term use definitely brings swollen soles,loss of feeling,less thinking power,high growth of hair,deterioration of muscle & bones leading to malformed fingers .....the story goeson.But do not stop your intake without consulting your Doc. I am 55 years old engineer working in Jakarta. I had an accident in dec 2010 and was in coma for 4 days. After the brain surgery, the doctors prescribed eptoin 100 mg x 3 times a day. 6 months later on I started to have skin infection in form of boils which will not get cured by anti biotics. The doctors changed my medicine to levetiracetam 500 mg x 2 times a day. The levetiracetam makes me drowsy in after noon and causes nausea, weakness and mood swings causing depression. I picked up 7 kg after starting the levetiracetam. After 5 months I changed back to eptoin 100 mg x 3 times a day. After 4 months I again had the boils on skin and changed to levetiracetam. Now I will be back to India in august and ask the doctor to suggest another medicins as both the earlier ones have bad side effects.

I am Syed Ishthiaq Ahmed working in middle east since 20 years before comming i use take Eptoin 100 Mg morning 100 Mg and evening 200 MG then i stop the fits for a years i stop the tablets after performing marriage in middle east in 2003 i started fits due to this reson my wife separated and i performed marriage again in August 2005 now i am taking tablets Xenoza 600 Mg and Clobazom 20 Mg Morning 600 Mg Xenoxa and Cloba 10 Mg evening 600 Mg Xnoxa and 10 Mg but every year i will get a fits where ever i am one time i got fits in office one in bathroom in tub i loked the door when i got fits i became unconcious and souting from out side of bathroom my wife and my younger brother trying to open the door,

Please sugest what to do and to whom i have consult in india if fear too much because i have two kids every time i use think about my kids and wife if any thing happen how they can serive in life

My daughter aged 14 had her first seizure on asunday morning in aug 26 th she was adviced Enchorate chrono 500 and 300, BUt since another doctor adviced go for Livipril 500 and when the dose oF enchorate was tappered down She had repeat attack on November 26th, so the doctors adviced take both Drugs, and asked to tapper the livipril gradually, when we tappered it down again Problem came within ten days, and hospitalised, during this they gave Additional drugs frisium and eptoin, and on discharge they advised to tapper the drugs one by one starting with Eptoin, As per the schedule Two days back Eptoin was stoppe but today she had an attack, What is the status of my daughter, Should I need to continue with all the four drugs? I am Now Treating her Sri chitra Institute TVM. Kindly advice me

Hi my son is 16,he's epileptic since 2008,first for 3yrs he was on Tagrital 300mg but still he had seizure.then was admitted in hospital then doctors started Velporin 300mg twice a day.again on 6th of april he had seizure now he is agai admitted.now doctor is giving him velporin 300mg & eptoin 100mg.when will these seizure please help.
