Hi Thomas,
If you run a google search for "Endocet Discontinued", you'll find that various websites do actually list Endocet as being discontinued; however they do not offer any specific reasons as to why.
That said, I can't say for certain that it truly is discontinued, otherwise I think it would say so under normal Endocet search results. Some pharmacies may have stopped prescribing it due to the higher dose of Oxycodone, but it might be best to just ask the pharmacy directly if they are carrying it.
I hope this helps!
It has been increasingly difficult to fill my monthly prescription for Endocet, and now it is totally unavailable. It would cost me over $800.00 per month for Percocet, and when I have had to use other generics (Endocet was billed as a generic), I get extremely ill for several days & am unable to function. I don't care what others say - my body absolutely does recognize a substantial difference between manufacturers when given a same dosage substitute for Endocet. I am tired of being penalized for my necessity for this medication.
It is my understanding that only the 10/650 has been discontinued because of government interference stating that 650 mg of acetaminophen causes liver damage, which is hokey as I took it for over 15 years with no liver damage. I have blood work to prove it so I guess the ones with liver damage must have abused the pill and took too many a day. Now the rest of us will suffer for their ignorance.
That or the doctor was careless & prescribed to much of the 650 mg ones, as 80% of most people would take what was directed & not question that of their health & the many years of the warnings & now the FDA is stating it's bad for you as well, now that shows lots there, as since when did the government care about our health, s*** they want to kill of many & cut down on the rapid population outbreak, stupid people PLEASE STOP HAVING CHILDREN!
I just had my percocet 10/325 filled and was given endocet 10/325. Im not sure if possibly they were old or what but they sure are not working. Therefore endocet is still available.
I also had mine filled. I get the 10/325. They lowered the acetaminophen because someone decided it damaged your liver. I was told pharmacies don't like to carry it because it costs more. You can call around till you find one. It is an oblong yellow pill a lot smaller than it used to be with 10/325 on one side and E712 on the other. I get mine through prime mail order pharmacy.
I have been unable to find Endocet 10/325 (yellow) for about the past year now.
The manufacturers of the ones being dispensed now are not as effective in relieving pain.
I live in California (Fresno county) and did contact Endo Pharmaceuticals to inquire if they were still available. They did reply that they were still available but had no way to direct me to any specific pharmacies. So far, I have been unable to find a pharmacy that carries them.
I live about 50 miles from any towns and most pharmacies require you to bring your prescription in person to even let you know if they have any pain medication in stock.
It makes it very difficult for those of us who are responsible adults with real health issues from being treated like criminals for merely inquiring about a brand/availability, etc.
The code on the last prescription I got was imprinted:IP204, and the one prior to that was imprinted:A333. They look the same and neither of them have been effective.
I always have tried to take less than prescribed dosage which worked just fine with the Endocet brand, but these that are now being dispensed are not even effective at prescribed dosage???
It's very obvious they are inferior in comparison. Unfortunately, I have came to the realization that I will have to live in much more pain now because of the poor quality of what is now replacing Endocet.
I've always been aware that one cannot expect to be completely pain- free, but to have enough relief to be able to do daily basic chores/activities.
My sympathies go out to all of you who know and understand the daily struggles of living with pain, and sadly, the insincerities of those who often pass uneducated judgement and assumptions.
I just got endoscet 10/325 fillled by my local pharm for the first time I had been getting Mallis for 6 yrs. But they won't order extra now and save it for my next months script. Is that because they are not allowed to keep and save them for a certain customer. usually the pharmistist sorta tells me everything but was evasive on this one. This is the best generic perc I have ever taken (the Endocet) May 2015
I contacted Endo Pharmaceuticals and they are still available with no shortage.(endocet 10/325)
They could not tell me where they are going beyond the distribution centers.
So, where can I find them?.....some pharmacies tell you they are no longer available, others say they have no control over what is sent to them.
I'm sick of this B.S.! I go weeks sometimes without any medication because the new alternative does not work!
It's hard enough having major pain issues and now I'm struggling to do basic chores.
I do not expect to be completely pain free, but at least have some quality of life again.
P.S. I contacted above stated pharmaceutical company a second time just recently and was told the same thing. No back-orders and still being distributed......WHERE??????
I live in Central California Fresno County.
My heart-felt sympathies go out to all of you who are suffering and are struggling with basic life activities.
Fjk.what pharmacies carry endocet.i have been taking endocet for years to relieve my back pain.my pharmacy said they can't get them anymore. Discontinued.
There is no shortage of Endocet, pharmacies just won't order them because they apparently don't make enough money from it. It costs more than the other percocet generic, oxycodone. I've been on Endocet for 15 years due to degenerative disc disease (had 5 spinal surgeries already and possibly more) and my pharmacist (Sav-On) have been doing special order of Endocet for me and several other patients who prefer this over oxycodone but the last couple of months, she hasn't been able to get them because their corporate office declined her order. And for this month, she was told by her purchasing department that special orders for Endocet will no longer be allowed, that they will only be using oxycodone manufacturers. I asked her why is that and she said that they lose $30 for my 30 day supply/180 tablets. My co-insurance for is $20. I'm not sure if this issue is insurance related or not. I have a strong sense that it is. I'm guessing insurance companies wants to pay less. Oxycodone has more manufacturers than Endocet therefore driving the price of oxycodone down and making endocet more expensive. I've tried other pharmacies and they all gave me the same excuse, will not do special order anymore because they don't make money on Endocet. This really sucks coz it's the only pain med that works well for me. It takes within 15 minutes of taking it to reduce my pain level and lasts longer in my system that I could last 6 hours before taking the next dose while other percocet generics take up to an hour to take effect and only lasts up to 4 hours which basically means I have reduced pain for just 3 hours and it also upsets my stomach. I wish pharmacies would be more compassionate instead of just looking at their pocketbooks. I told my pharmacist that I am willing to cover their loss of $30 if she can just order Endocet for me. She said it probably would be ok if all patients would do that but unfortunately not all patients would be willing to pay more for the same generic medicine. In the meantime, I don't really have a choice but to settle for oxycodone but I'm continuing my search for Endocet. I'd appreciate if anyone can refer me to any pharmacy that carries them (by mail order or anywhere in Las Vegas.)
oh yes i just went through that .The walk of shame.
Re: Bonnie (# 7)
Do you still receive Endocet through the mail? My pharmacy just discontinued them saying that they’re not making them anymore. I don’t believe it. Can you please refer me to a place where I can order them? I’ve been taking them for 10 years and nothing works as well as them for my pain.
